iam now looking for a sport as i cant afford the fuel on a turbo, ive come across this, now its a classic with a pre face lift so that would make it 93-96?
also its a classic
ive spoke to them and its coming up as a 2002 51 reg

its got a 51 plate but they didnt make sports that age,a 51 would surely be a gx?

anyone solve this one,the car its self is straight and that but another issue is the interior, the dash is out of a newer later classic, but its got a pre facelift front end?

issue......

Looks like a very late to be registered face lifted classic to me. Face lifted bumper and interior from what I can see, just a very odd grill to have on it.

Its a classic sport mate, i had a 51 plate sti v3(1997)?? The Dvla issued some with the wrong plate in 2001 so there are a few that are plated as a 51 plate. If you ask the seller he should be able to tell you from reading the V5 log book.

mmmmm yeh i suppose the car its self is clean i just saw it and thought id ask the question,i just dont and cant get my head around the fact that this car was built around 96 and was never registered till 2002

tax???
i no nothing about tax going up?

MattyB1983 02 April 2012 05:06 PM

What makes you think it was built in 1996 ???

MattyB1983 02 April 2012 05:13 PM

It's obviously a late registered face lift classic which someone has tried making into a turbo look a like. They have just used preface lift bonnet and grill for some reason, (probably cheaper).
2001 classic are quite common so a 2002 isn't that strange, probably sat on dealers forecourt unregistered for a while.

wrxolly 02 April 2012 05:22 PM

yeh the only reason i think that is the fact that its got pre face lift bonnet and head lamps, surely you wouldnt take face lift lamps out for pre facelift surely?

MattyB1983 02 April 2012 05:48 PM

You wouldn't of thought so but maybe the chap just bought the lot in a deal. Bonnet, lights and grill. Those three things were probably cheaper than just a facelift bonnet.

MattyB1983 02 April 2012 05:50 PM

The car looks like a heap anyway chap.

scoobychris300 03 April 2012 08:23 AM

id say theyve just changed bonnet for pre facelift turbo one , interior and frt bumper is facelift,

Not much more economical than a turbo and everyone will laugh at you, especially the fluffy dice Luke warm hot hatch macdonalds munchers
