Carbon Roof fitted

To Ryan (aka prodriverules) for fitting my CF roof. Awesome job mate, thanks for the MOT and wicked service.

To ACR Composites for a expertly made produce, a real credit and finally AkCustomsz for organising the GB.

Much http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr.../notworthy.gifhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr.../notworthy.gifhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr.../notworthy.gif to you all.

Outside pics soon.

This is as I got back today, so it's dusty. I have also booked the car in for a Venture Shield application to be doubly safe.

Next step is fitting this.

Thanks Lee,It wasn't to bad and it was after yours mate lol.
Tbho given I am removing old panels and replacing with new most days it's like second nature to me and as long as you have the proper tools and a good spot weld drill[WURTH] it's quite straight forward:thumb:

gavin876 05 March 2012 07:53 PM

Very nice, how much did it cost?

beef-on-the-bone 05 March 2012 07:59 PM

It's a CF wrap.

JonMc 05 March 2012 08:24 PM

Looks tidy, good look cutting the roof for the flap - it's one thing cutting a metal roof but I'd be worried about the Carbon cracking/fraying:eek:

The Trooper 1815 05 March 2012 08:37 PM

Don't worry mate. I am still weighing up my options.

The Pink Ninja 05 March 2012 08:53 PM

Looks great, Would look even better with the flap but i would`nt drive too fast with it open as chances are it will damage the roof, The amount of air that comes through mine is unreal at high(er) speeds.

mp24 05 March 2012 09:57 PM

Called up ian's and seen the roof this evening, excellent quality :-)

Cannon Fodder 05 March 2012 10:48 PM

Does it not say on them not to open above 60mph or something like that?

wrx9181 06 March 2012 07:08 AM

Very nice

wrighty338 06 March 2012 07:13 AM

Yes, have a look at the second flap picture, it is in Japanese though!

Ti22 06 March 2012 09:04 AM

Looking good that Ian :thumb:

mervil 06 March 2012 09:25 AM

Looks good that Ian :)

Ref vent- Chris from ACR Composites who made them said as long as the disc for cutting them is sharp and the area is masked up, there shouldn't be any problems! I'll do mine first if you like Ian :D

The Trooper 1815 06 March 2012 10:08 PM

I will take my Kahunas in hand mate. I know where you and your misses live anyway :D.

S3LDM 07 March 2012 09:06 PM

Yeh, they say on them do not open at speeds over 80kmh/50mph as when they do the snap open very quickly, been there :D

That's just opening when the car is moving though, if it's already open it's not too much of a problem as (on my own private test track) mine has been open at over 120+, but obviously this is a metal roof not carbon, all depends on how it's fitted I guess.

The Trooper 1815 08 March 2012 01:54 PM

I should be home early today for some daytime outdoor pictures.
