classic impreza died and wont start

hi guys ive just rebuilt my impreza engine. i blew the bottom end so replaced it with a sti botom end. i had the car running yesterday and it started first time with no problems. ive used it thismorning and came home. when i went to go out in it again it started then cut out. i now have no spark and no fuel pump.

Ive wired the fuel pump to a 12v supply and it works
Ive checked all fuses under the bonnet and by the drivers footwell

has anyone got anything i can try or know how to solve this problem :wonder:

Thank you all in advance

Hi it sounds like your immobiliser is on all the time.

I have a toad alarm and immobiliser and the fob is working fine. I also do NOT have a check engine light. Ive checked the bulb ect but doesent work so cannot do a fault code check

anything else not working? relay?

scoobysim 04 March 2012 04:13 PM

would the fuel pump relay stop the coil packs sparking?

Crank sensor?

swaynie 04 March 2012 06:52 PM

It does sound like either a earth hasn't been put back properly or its the crank or cam sensor but I would be 90% sure of a earthing issue

ok thanks swaynie i will check all earths, would the cam or crank sensor stop the fuel pump working tho. i know it would stop spark but didnt think it would stop fuel pump priming

Swaynie thank you very much. ive just found a lose earth wire and she fired straight away
