Rear end dilemma on a S202 - advice

I am in 2 minds about doing a STi 8 conversion on my S202 STi 7.

I have the bumper and lights here. What should i do as i am confused!

Yes or no?

tubbytommy 23 February 2012 05:42 PM

do it and do the centre console swap too.

53 23 February 2012 06:06 PM

Two threads on the subject, you really are confused :p

All depends if you ruined it with sideskirts yet ? if you have you may aswell butcher the rest :)

KAS35RSTI 23 February 2012 06:29 PM

Apologie for double thread, dont know how that happened. Mods please delete

No sideskirts at all. Where did you get that from?

What is your opinion on the rear conversion?

mervil 23 February 2012 06:29 PM

S202 should be kept original IMO!

*awaits Cannon Fodder*

Tyyyyyyyy????

:D

jayallen 23 February 2012 06:32 PM

No

Cannon Fodder 23 February 2012 06:33 PM

Don't touch it, alter a std STi by all means but leave the S202 alone. :)

S202 SHOULD BE LEFT STANDARD!!

Engine mods are allowed tho :)

The Trooper 1815 23 February 2012 06:44 PM

Hmm,

The rear end looks similar to any other bugeye. I though it would have been a good upgrade.

The STi 8 rear end looks more meaty.

Something like this, how does it look?

Kas leave it as STi built it, I think the S202 is the best factory built newage Impreza barring the Hawkeye RA-R which rivals it.

Keep it as standard as possible inc the pink STi suspension, the only thing I did to my S202 suspension was an anti lift kit.

Engine wise I just went for an Ecutek map, uprated panel filter and exhaust (but kept the titanium factory system) and that gave 350bhp but as it handled so well it didn't really need massive amounts of power. :)

KAS35RSTI 23 February 2012 08:21 PM

Guess you guys are right. I am in two minds so I will leave it.

Now i got more parts to sell!

Tyrone would you know where i can buy the S202 spoiler brackets etc from?

Cannon Fodder 23 February 2012 08:37 PM

Try www.japanparts.com or try Litchfield Imports as they fitted the S202 as an option on their cars.

Good decision. :thumb:

Flaps 23 February 2012 09:06 PM

I'm with most others on here, you don't get an S202 to mess about with it :nono:

KAS35RSTI 23 February 2012 09:08 PM

Cheers Ty. Will give them a shot.

You have to admit, below is pure porn!

Is the spoiler in post #13 an S202 spoiler? Reason I ask is that I have a carbon fibre spoiler from a Litchfield Type 25 in the garage, with brackets that I had cleaned up and powder coated black, and have been wondering whether to offer it up for sale. I've gone for the "Spec D" or A-line look, with no spoilers etc :)

LegacySTi 24 February 2012 12:02 AM

S202 left original exterior wise iml

Tim I believe that is an original S202 spoiler, the way to tell is that the feet of the spoiler brackets have their own plastic bases which are individual and not joined up as the Megan Racing copy has.

I may be interested if you're selling, please PM me. ;)

KrisBuc 24 February 2012 06:55 AM

Do it at the end of the day it's your motor not anyone else's

Ah, hadn't spotted the feet being different. Mine has a single base so must be a copy - although I'm sure it was offered as a factory-fit option when Iain Litchfield imported blob STi models.
