No pops anymore.

Hi guys, I have just fitted a standard recirc valve to my Impreza as it was fitted with a Bailey dump valve before but this seems to have cut out all of the exhaust pops, I'm guessing this means the car is not running so rich?

Turbotits 06 February 2012 07:43 PM

It means the cars running as it should. And not putting un-burnt fuel into the exhaust which ignites and causes the Pop.

CharlySkunkWeed 06 February 2012 07:51 PM

bet you would prefer the pops back though ! Even though the car is running right now ?

You can get them mapped in. Duncan Dynamix did my last one and was like having full Anti Lag.

You dont always have to have them mapped in, it can sometimes depend on your exhaust as well. mine pops with no effort at all in 4th,3rd,& 2nd just buy lifting off with an afterburner vortex.

Would tje old Bailey one have done it no good in the long run?

alcazar 08 February 2012 05:59 PM

No, of course not.

Apart from given you bore wash, leading to excess upper cylinder wear, possible valve burning, damage to any cats, dilution of your oil.....no damage at all, and well worth having, just for the noise as Charly said;)

U guys are lucky. The pe*** who done mine reckons he cld not do it unless I changed up pipe. So changed up pipe and still could not do it

Mine is fitted with the OEM recirc, and still pops and bangs.
