Nice one :thumb: Who is mapping it for you and what mods do you already have?

M2RTXhawkeye 22 November 2011 03:59 PM

Cheers mate. Having decat up pipe and down pipe fitted next week, went for a HRC fuel pump green cotton panel filter and then the 3 port which will go on day of the map. Andrew Carr mate

Cheers

That gets expensive, trust me I know  My scoob was standard 12 months ago

M2RTXhawkeye 22 November 2011 04:20 PM

I was thinking between the walbro and HRC fuel pumps after a bit of reading decided on the HRC does anyone think I made the wrong choice or has anyone any bad experiences with the HRC pumps

Cheers
Martin

M2RTXhawkeye 22 November 2011 04:25 PM

Lol mate you sound just like me then I get addicted once I start something for now 270bhp would be awsome then maybe next summer get it around 330bhp and I'd be really happy

Martin

Paulo P 22 November 2011 04:25 PM

I ditched my walbro because it started failing whilst we were mapping the car, to be fair we were probably asking a bit much of a 255 though.

M2RTXhawkeye 22 November 2011 05:18 PM

Which pump have you gone for now then mate? Heard the walbros failing a little which is why I opted for the HRC plus it looks good value for money lol. Hoping to get the pops an bangs mapped in too really can't wait ha

Martin

Paulo P 22 November 2011 05:24 PM

I've dropped a Sytec in there now, it's a much bigger pump too so hopefully it'll be alright :)

monkfish2 22 November 2011 05:29 PM

I was told told the STI doesn't have an up-pipe cat, unless that was just the blobs.

M2RTXhawkeye 22 November 2011 05:44 PM

Yes that's right mate sti only has a cat in the down pipe.

Martin

M2RTXhawkeye 22 November 2011 05:45 PM

Paulo P id be ok with just the HRC 255 won't I for the gain in Bhp I'm looking for?

Cheers

Paulo P 22 November 2011 06:51 PM

Yes that should be fine until you are going for over 400bhp :)

craigyp 22 November 2011 07:16 PM

After much of debate about which fuel pump was right for my car I went with the hrc 290

M2RTXhawkeye 22 November 2011 07:22 PM

So I should be ok with the HRC just not alot of talk about them as the walbro pumps. More I think about it I feel like a kid in a candy shop lol can't wait to feel how it'll drive after map

craigyp 22 November 2011 07:37 PM

you get 2 year warranty on the hrc only a year on walbro!! To be honest that's what swung it for me

evorach 22 November 2011 07:46 PM

Nice looking bug. Love the plate.

M2RTXhawkeye 22 November 2011 08:25 PM

Thanks matey

Are you getting a garage to fit the up pipe and down pipe? If so, how much are they charging? I need to get mine fitted before a remap so just curious

are they not just modified walbros? heard good things about them, im going for the hrc 255

M2RTXhawkeye 23 November 2011 08:36 PM

Wilbo- yes garage fitting these mate £120 pound for both

Topshot- mate heard the exact same yet the HRC is comin in at £50 so gone for that one plus a 2 yr warranty sounds quality

How did the remap go mate? Ive got my first remap pending and am collecting my bits at the min( decat dp, 3 port valve etc) have opted for the hrc pump also, how you getting on with it? cheers

M2RTXhawkeye 09 January 2012 02:53 PM

HI mate remapped and it's awsome!!! Complete different drive so must thank rick@taylor motors and Andrew Carr who's special at his work. HRC seems all good mate had bo problem touch wood lol. The drive now is how it should have been.

Had decat downpipe, decat up pipe,3 port, HRC 255 fitted. Andy did a switchable map for me and estimated the economy map to be 220bhp/220torque which I can switch to 270/280.
Had a few pops n bangs mapped in too. All in all an enjoyable experience and a better car after it. When you getting yours done mate and what car you got?

Martin

scooby red 09 January 2012 03:20 PM

Should be next month. Piling in the overtime this month to pay for it. Deffo gonna go for the hrc after what you and others have said on here.
Got my downpipe and 3 port on order, order my pump next then give duncan racedynamix a call.
Ive had the car 4 yrs but its been my daily commute until recently, now its just my toy so i'm gonna play with it!
Oh yeh its an 02 STI bug, blue tho much prefer black after looking at ur pics.
cheers, dave

Duncan remapped mines last week I am now running something near 350/330 (maybe a little bit more) but I want to get it on the rollers for sure. He went away pleased with the results and said he rarely sees blobs with my upgrades producing figures like this. I'm well chuffed! Cheers Duncan.

Think I've got scooby syndrome, this is coming from a guy who has always said he wants to keep it standand. Glad I didn't best decision I've made.
