sti ecu on 2000 turbo ??

right will it work can i fit a sti v5 ecu in a v5 2000 turbo ?

Brun 19 November 2011 07:37 PM

No

Brun 19 November 2011 07:38 PM

.....actually yes, but it won't start :D

sonicvr6 19 November 2011 08:36 PM

ok why not ? is there a way of sorting it so it will or what the cheapest way of him getting a better one in ?

Brun 19 November 2011 08:50 PM

Not sure why - but to swap i think it will mean the whole loom too.
This is IIRC BTW :thumb:

TonyBurns 19 November 2011 09:28 PM

The plugs different to start with, think the crank sensor is too, plus you need the loom etc, possible but expensive.

Tony:)

right so cheapest way for him to get around 300bhp has manifold my old 18g is going on the car has 3inch system and having my old 440 injectors and my old walbro 255

mickywrx 19 November 2011 09:34 PM

18g will do a fair bit more than 300.

Brun 19 November 2011 09:37 PM

A UK V5 can be Tekked and with an 18g i'm guessing 340 upwards can be had but the 440's will be the limiting factor :)

yeah i know dose 400 with meth but i'm upgrading to a 20g and said he can have it for free as his td04 if ****ed he's only aiming for 300

Tidgy 19 November 2011 10:00 PM

20g will be lagged as fook.

tbh sounds like hes trying to do it too cheap, a decent v35, decat, fuel and map and bang theres 320

i'me the one getting the 20g and his car aint mappable thats why i'm asking about ecu options he's doing it as cheap as he can most no all of the stuff on his car is my old bit's that i've upgraded again like the turbo

Jolly Green Monster 20 November 2011 10:26 AM

The uk v5 ecu is mappable

sonicvr6 20 November 2011 11:05 AM

we was told it's not it's a s reg 98 car so it can be mapped then ?

Brun 20 November 2011 11:26 AM

An S reg 98 car "can" be an MY99.

Jolly Green Monster 20 November 2011 11:35 AM

ope nthe bonnet.. if the coil pack is offset to the passenger side it is a v5 and standard ecu can be remapped. if in the middle then its a 98 and needs esl or replacement ecu

sonicvr6 20 November 2011 11:37 AM

it's center so how much ?

Jolly Green Monster 20 November 2011 11:52 AM

V4 then.

Esl £525+vat
Simtek £895+vat

Or secondhand apexi etc

sonicvr6 20 November 2011 12:06 PM

will a p1 ecu do it ? he aint got much money he's using my cast off's to build the thing

Brun 20 November 2011 12:32 PM

P1 is V5

TonyBurns 20 November 2011 12:54 PM

Tony:)

Jolly Green Monster 20 November 2011 01:01 PM

No p1 is a v5.

Leave it standard, else he wont have the money to rebuild it after it expires cutting corners

sonicvr6 20 November 2011 01:30 PM

i tell him to start saving then aint cheap having a scooby

Jolly Green Monster 20 November 2011 02:13 PM

Its impossible not to modify them

sonicvr6 20 November 2011 02:30 PM
