wrx flat spot???

hi all i recently got a 2001 wrx uk300 but as ive got more familiar with the car ive noticed it has a little flat spot in low down revs like moving from the lights seems like a slight delay before it picks up any ideas??

any mods on the car, history, replacement parts etc?

Could be the boost control solenoid needs cleaning, 5 min job. Failing that, if its been remapped then it could be worth a healthcheck on the dyno.

well ive been told by the previous owner

lightweight flywheel
uprated fuel pump
dump valve
bigger intercooler
KnN induction
maf sensor

where is the control solenoid? could be worth a try.

You sure it's not just the turbo lag?

Other than that dump valves have been known to make the car run worse.

Not sure about the other mods though.

either clean the maf, or the boost solenoid. Do a search on here for help on how to.

its a possibility but doesn't feel like that to me, if its just stood idling and i blip the pedal fast it doesn't pick up straight away, thought it could be an air leak or summit

The DENSO ECU fitted to the Bug replaced the old JECS unit on the classic, Brilliant ECU in the end but for the early bug cars was a bit buggy.

My 2002 Bug runs a shed load of mods with a remapped ECU but still throws a CEL light near the rev limiter (CEL Light lit as I've been on the A69 today), has a strange sort of pulsing down slight inclines at light throttle which really pi$$es me off , doesn't like to pick up after following a tractor (drive by noise reg limiter) and when the TGV's are open and off cold start doesn't like stop start traffic !

Been like that for 8 years and I have had it checked out and have learned to live with it :)

Got the same problem with my Classic Sahun (shaun) which i've asked about at Carnetix and its a common problem. Usually does it when cold and when I start driving off boost before the car is warmed up. To start with I thought it was gearbox/drive related as you can feel the pulsing but I'm used to it now.
