immobiliser /ecu. classic
Question does the immobiliser run through the ecu wiring ?
Also i want to install a push button start but does the ecu need the magnetic band that reads the key chip or can i do away with this ? |
Depends on what year classic

Yea i believe it has a seperate imobiliser ecu. So needs to see the chip in the key. What are you planning to do as you could remove the chip reciever to a different place in the car and leave the chip permantly in it. Ive done this on a few race cars. Saves trying to wire around the imobiliser

thats what the auto sparky has just said to me ,so just disconnect the chip from the key and tape it in the induction loop then ?
Are you a sparky then ? |
just want to incorporate a push button start instead of the key
|
Nope im mechanic. Its just an easy way roind the problem. Its very easy to wire a switch for ignition and push starter button. Just make sure the switch can cope with the amount of amps your gonna put through it
|
better through a relay i think .

Are you a sparky then ? you dont need to do that as your car is a running aftermarket ecu the subaru transponder immobiliser wont be working. |
That was my original thought that im running a simtek ecu and the immobiliser would have been disconnected, so no need at all for induction loop and chip .
