anti lag system question

Right iam looking into running anti lag system on my95 wrx import might go for the gem ecu setup, what do i need to run this safely i have a td05 16g,decat pipe, sti crank, wrx rods and pistons i do have a new fuel pump and 550 injectors to go in as and when. any more info would help alot.

iam sure ur already aware but anti lag shortens turbo life and cracks ur headers, its not need on a daily drive, if its a track car fair enough

sonicvr6 04 November 2011 02:30 AM

but it sounds and looks cool you should be fine with that i'm going to be running it soon

Anti lag will kill your engine/turbo (hence one of the reasons wrc cars have rebuilds every 1k miles ;)) and those engines are built to run anti lag, your normal road going car will suffer, and its illegal to use on the road anyway so its really pointless to have.
You can have pops n bangs added (a bit of overfuelling on lift off), which is much more friendly ;)

Tony:)

would it work with two maps on board...

amego 04 November 2011 10:21 AM

i now it sounds good but for the money your spending on the engine i wouldent bother on the chance you blowing the turbo

sti345 04 November 2011 10:30 AM

morning dan...ive just got this thing about anti lag as it sounds mad what else is out there apart from the lag

Simtek ECU and just get it mapped/unlocked :)

I have it on mine but it gets boring after a while :) I wouldn't worry about the turbo given a replacement TD05 on the 95's is like 50-100, possibly the cheapest of all the turbos to replace second hand :)

Quite pointless in this form and no real application due to noise restrictions.

Good in tunnels though :)

well my simtek is haveing them both only planning on using them at the pod to kill corsa's

sti345 04 November 2011 11:15 AM

i think jgm can sort out the simtek ecu..will have to look in to it a bit more, i also have 3 td05 16g that need rebuilding i might convert one with a 20g comp wheel and housing and have a 90 deg pipe so i can keep the top entry system then put all the other bits on and get it mapped.

sonicvr6 04 November 2011 11:19 AM

yes you can

Ryan@Indigo-GT 04 November 2011 06:28 PM

Id go with either a Simtek or Hydra ecu, as other have said it will shorten the life of your turbo so make sure you use it in moderation, it sounds amazing though! :)

ive got a switch for my anti lag but dont no when launch control is on how can i find out lol

snake1906 04 November 2011 09:05 PM

it should be on the same switch put it in gear turn on al and push your foot down on the loud pedal it should bounce off 5grand untill you let the clutch go?

sonicvr6 04 November 2011 09:33 PM

dont think you need to have one mine aint on the car yet (roll on thursday ) think it can be set for clutch down 1st gear

P1Drifter 04 November 2011 09:55 PM

simtek als and launch are on separate switches, launch can be set to use the nps in the gearbox but from personal experience the switches are pretty flakey on the earlier cars and your better off with an external switch.
