i heard people say that there car runs like a bag of crap when they put new dump valve on is it better to get a recirc valve

leecalcars 01 November 2011 10:29 PM

stick with the standered dv mate the best option !

I had a bailys a few years ago and the actuator stuck open and lost all power ,stick with standered .

errrmmm NO,, if hes putting a new recirc on it will in no way need mapping:D as for a vta some will run fine, mostly classics, the newage tend not to like them:thumb:

U don't have 2 but it is supposed 2 be better. There r loads of debates on this and I'm not looking 2 argue so going 2 keep it simple. No u don't but u can see better gains if u map it because that way it will compensate for the change in pressure etc. If some 1 does wanna start then there r actual videos of cars on dynos with the different types on vs the rc 1.

BrownPantsRacing 02 November 2011 01:36 AM

My newage 06 runs same with standard or hks ssqv fitted. No difference at all.

I had a dual port for years (APS) with no issues - excellent piece of kit and only vented to atmosphere when absolutely caning it.

barnshaw 02 November 2011 08:32 AM

removed my APS recirc last week and blanked off the DV and the car is a million times better

Jolly Green Monster 02 November 2011 09:08 AM

Car doesnt need mapping for a dv change.

If the car run carp once you have changed the dv then the dv is faulty, has too soft a spring etc. no mapping will sort this correctly. Yes it can be mapped to drive nicer again but will be down on power as the dv is leaking.

The dv is suppose to remain closed until you come off the throttle and the pressure in the intercooler and pipework exceeds sensible pressure at which point the dv should open and release it and then close again.

Often they open on idle causing hunting or they open on part throttle at low rpm causing massive over fuelling, or they open slightly on boost as they cannot hold the pressure.

So if you change it and the car doesnt run right then change it back. My favourite is no dv at all.

great advice from simon and informative!

as i mentioned the APS valve was working but removing it 100% improves the ride, less jerky, better throttle response

NOSSY_89 02 November 2011 01:34 PM

U should really start yr own wiki Simon :luxhello:
