Twin in tank pump setup

Hi guys.

It's been a while! I want a twin in tank fuel setup.
I was think of running two Bosch 044 pumps in my scooby because those pumps do not die off at high boost.

I would like some information on how to do it myself please.

MartynJ 12 October 2011 08:51 PM

Two of these may be easier to fit as they take up much less room.

Depends on how you want to do it? do you want the pumps next to each other like the above link or one on each side of the tank?

P1Drifter 13 October 2011 07:27 PM

how much power and boost are you running to require 2 044 's ?

magicseven 13 October 2011 08:46 PM

I believe Powertune hanger wont fit in my scooby 1998 model. I have contact them about this hanger, not 100% sure they will fit in my model. They will fit 1999-2006 models.

I have looked at Full Blown Motorsports Twin Fuel Pump Hangers

Not impressed with walbro pumps they die out at high boost..

I am already running a Hi Flow Walbro fuel pump in my car double the price £144.00

I dont fancy the surge tank thing! if I go down that route I know I will be changing my fuel lines to -8 or -10. might start thinking of runing E85 then.

I would like the fuel pumps side by side for the fuel flow.

I will be running 33psi.

I would like the easiest way to do the job tbh...

I was thinking of inline fuel pump not sure on this I know alot of Evo guys run this set-up with no problems...

how much bhp ? surely en external pump/pumps would be much easier ?
just finished my setup, its fed by a walboro, should be good for 500+

how is your fuel swirlpot plumbed in, i see the main outlet to the pump is at the bottom but what do the other 3 fittings do

sorry to hijack thread but im doing my fuel system at the moment

Ginge ! 13 October 2011 09:22 PM

ps: nobody will need twin 044 pumps unless running silly horsepower,,,,, not to mention the noise from 2 of them

P1Drifter 13 October 2011 09:40 PM

top of tank is fuel return to tank
next is fuel in from walboro (through small filter)
next is return from fuel rails
and bottom is out to 044

I can live with my gearbox noise its not every day just a weekend worrior now lol..

P1Drifter 13 October 2011 09:47 PM

how much bhp tho ?

magicseven 13 October 2011 09:51 PM

700bhp on road fuel is my goal. V-power

P1Drifter 13 October 2011 10:00 PM

good luck, whats the spec on that then
?

Ginge ! 13 October 2011 10:01 PM

ok maybe 2 044's are needed but its ALOT of cash for that BHP,,,,,, as in the figure in your head generally tripple it plus add a few hundred for ancillerys

I am in the thousands fella I have be working on my car since 2004 standard back then I am afraid to look at the receipts tbh. I am so close but so far, I just want to finish it and enjoy driving it.

Only if you were paying someone else to do it for you...

magicseven 16 October 2011 11:17 AM

Lol you would get ripped off. If you want the job done right do it yourself.

LegacySTi 16 October 2011 11:24 AM

Good luck with that one !

In all seriousness I would run an Aeromotive A1000 for that setup along with a Deatschwerks in tank pump and a swirl pot.

Martyn
