Can you clarify what we have apparently forgotten as we are not in the habit of making mistakes when changing clutches, and your post put us in a bad light.:wonder:

Hi there if it sound that i have put scoobyclinic down in some way then that was not my intention :thumb:but the clutch that you have put in me car at 37000 mile my car is on 42000 miles now so 5000 mile and the clutch was split in to many pieces all the rivets that hold it together had all come apart is that down to the quality of the clutches that you use or just one bad clutch ???? and as for the parts that FB has taken out of the clutch master cylinder it is some kind of restrictor on the fluid return that should get taken out when fitting uprated clutch im no expert but scoobyclinc are and you dont now what he removed ??????? :wonder::Suspiciou

Hi,

we only use high quality clutches such as Exedy as fitted to our track cars, as we said on the phone, if the unit has failed it will get replaced under warranty and if it's deemed by the manufacturer driver miss use/abuse then it won't.

Again you are having a pop at us when we asked a straight forward question, stating, "im no expert but scoobyclinc are and you dont now what he removed ???????"

From what I can gather from your post you may be talking about the damper between master cylinder and slave cylinder, if so the "Damper" is there for a reason,if removed it puts extra shock load on your gearbox, upping the risk of stripping teeth off the gears dramatically.

Subaru did not spend millions of pounds developing a car with parts it didn't need!

If it is the damper, you are referring to it is not something we remove unless its on a twin or triple plate race clutch as fitted to many of our winning track cars

If there was an issue with your clutch pedal we would have expected you to contact us in the 5000 miles you have covered, it must have worked fine for that period of time.:wonder:

Please note we are not inviting a slanging match but simply do not know what you are trying to say, maybe FB would like to come on this thread and clarify just what they have removed, or is it just another urban myth. ;)

cheers

Thanks for the info buddy but you cant please everyone all of the time :thumb:i even drove around for about a year advertising scoobyclinic with the stickers you put on me back windows so do you owe me sponsorship moneys :lol:my car is working perfect now so im over the moon :luvlove::D

birchy2010 30 September 2011 06:52 PM

Clutches don't tend to last, my uprated Clutch that came out of my car after 4-5000 mile was totally dead and that had only gone in 4 month's earlier much to the surprise of the garage who removed it.

IAN WR1 30 September 2011 07:14 PM

I think exedy are good i put one (blue/grey box) in my classic and i wheelspun and drifted that car about everywere and it lasted forever never went wrong 20000 miles easy was still in the car when i sold it :luvlove: so i hope the (pink box) exedy performs the same :luvlove:
I SUPOSE STEPPING ABOVE THE 400bhp MARK DIDNT HELP :D

birchy2010 30 September 2011 07:21 PM

Erm not to burst your bubble but mine was a "PINK" exedy clutch, Brand new when fitted, did one day at santa pod and some fast road but no track work etc. That was only 320 BHP.

IAN WR1 30 September 2011 07:27 PM

O SH*T its gonna get expensive i wanna do some track action this year :) what is the best clutch to fit and have some driveability i dont wanna fit a new clutch every year

birchy2010 30 September 2011 07:32 PM

That's just my experience with it, Some people's last forever, i'm on a single plate organic currently running 400+ and taking it to shakespear sunday for some abuse. Very impressed so far!

madisonmonkey 01 October 2011 07:40 AM

The greatest effect on the lifespan of a clutch, regardless of type and use, will be the driver. A little mechanical sympathy goes a long way :thumb:

AWG 01 October 2011 10:24 AM

Defiantly thought of the day winner there! :D :thumb:

IAN WR1 01 October 2011 12:13 PM

WISE words there monkey that means im f**k*d then :brickwall:lol1:
