Apparently there is a firmware update out for the superhub - it fixes a few issues and also lets you use it in 'modem only' mode so you can then use a 'proper' router to do wifi, nat etc.

hth :)

Lol I had 10 of these replaced. There is a fault with them. A new one is coming out

beanys 20 September 2011 10:20 PM

I had the same trouble , so i changed the channel the wifi transmitted on in side the hub :thumb:

you will only get r30 firmware if it is pushed to your modem. i don't think it is on general release yet.

What wireless router should i get i will be running 1 xbox and 3 laptops on the wireless signal cheers

SinghSuperStud 21 September 2011 11:45 AM

Cheap and cheerful WRT-54G or something similar (linksys) - they can be modd'ed with dd-wrt (google it) - have mine running that and it never goes wrong :)

Also - apparently the firmware can be forced on the SuperHub - check out Avforums as I've seen something on there.

thanks

is it the netgear routers that can have a "tomato" tweak to make them better?

Scoobyno1 21 September 2011 12:28 PM

Press and hold the big virgin media button on the front for a few seconds and it will turn the wifi part of it off so you can use it as modem only, then just plug in another wifi router into it.

This is what I had to do and I even get a better signal than the superhub.

peter zippy reid 21 September 2011 03:59 PM

so do i just plug the new router into one of the lan ports after i turn off the wifi on the super hub

Scoobyno1 21 September 2011 04:02 PM

Yes mate, as simple as that.
