perrin performance

hi guys , soon to be fitting ecutek to my hawkeye sti & ditching the 2.5" cat back ninja , your thoughts on this set up please perrin up pipe, single piece down pipe , equal lenth headers & ceramic coated stealth exhaust total price is £2493.79. so u see my need to ask ? serious cash for an exhaust set up / regards

g7prs 02 August 2011 09:48 PM

No need to spend that amount on an exhaust for just an ecutek remap!

Mrchips 02 August 2011 09:59 PM

That is some serious dough mate.

£139 (+p&p) OEM ported uppipe from harvey
(Tell him your total spec and he'll advise on the optimal one to achieve the mods' potential bhp whilst retaining as quick spool as poss.)

<£80 true 3" bellmouth decat downpipe

c.£350 true 3" Revolution or Cobra or H&S system

Done.

g7prs why not ? i want other upgrades on 2 < looking to get up to the 375 mark , that will be enough for me as dont want to go down the forged route . / in that case do you sugest i keep the ninja & forget the steallth as this will knock 1k of price?

g7prs 02 August 2011 10:09 PM

Mate that is crazy money for the level of power you are after! I have a blitz nur spec on my blobeye with a decat and it made 355 bhp. Now although this is on a two litre the system on mine would have been a fraction of the amount you have mentioned.

jazzyjembreaze 02 August 2011 10:10 PM

yea thanks joz , have spoken with revolution they also do downpies manifolds etc wich is fine , but im not 2 keen on there system as there manufactured by jetex , i had an issue with them about 10yrs back on a previous car ,, if you say jetex have improved there quality , cool :thumb:

jazzyjembreaze 02 August 2011 10:13 PM

g7prs , im here to listen & learn so , i understand what you say / shud i keep the ninja on & concentrate on the manifolds & turbo downpipe ?

g7prs 02 August 2011 10:26 PM

Speak to Harvey on here or which ever mapper / tuner you are planning on using to see what they advise.

I would go with a sports cat or decat, harvey up pipe, fuel pump and panel filter and then a remap.

Holly mother of god,Perrin is expensive bit of kit,if its worth these money, simply NO

Just for info:

DP:£160-£220
Center Pipe:£80-£150
Backbox: £160-£500

Headers:GT Spec from £445-£600

Up pipe i would suggest Harvey Up pipe, but my feeling you don't need Headers if you are want under 400bhp,headers are recommended if you are going for more than 400bhp+

a 2.5" system is fine for 375 bhp and so are the standard headers.

So all you need is harvey's up pipe £139
Decat downpipe £150 -£220
Ecutek remap iirc £550

That's near enough £1500 less.

Although it's not essential, there are gains to be had from getting your headers ported by harvey.
