What is the best way
Hi, what would be the best way to get to a reliable 350bhp, car is wr1 standard at the moment with just JR panel filter and AP clutch
Am I right thinking that just a decent mapper is needed and is 350bhp easily achieved or would there be other things you would recommend before map so more power would be gained without too much expense. thanks Pete |
i got 340 ish from my 04 sti with
cat back exhaust (miltek) green panel filter and remap. although mine had ppp fitted when new so i think has one cat removed already and a sport cat fitted |
Doesn't the WR1 have a VF35 fitted? I'd decat and remap and expect towards 340bhp.
IIRC the WR1 is 310 as std???? If so, i'd fook the above as it ain't no big jump and get a bigger blower and aim for 400 (assuming the WR1 is fitted with a 6 speed?) |
Cat back, filter, remap, not sure if they come with a 3port boost sol , should give you a reliable 350bhp

Thanks for the replies fellas
Wr1 has vf35, prodrive map, uprated fuel pump and full prodrive exhaust system with sports cat, standard power is suppose to be 316bhp although it dosent feel much quicker than my previous my99 Uk classic which had magnex cat back and filter. Does this mean I already have the 2nd cat delete as standard ? And would the prodrive system be on par with other decent cat back system like Tommy has on his ? therefore just a remap and panel filter will be needed ? And Brun what turbo would you recommend as a bolt on option that would take me closer to 400bhp Thanks Pete |
Not really up on Tubbys at the moment as i'm an Oil burner now but if it was my money i would be looking at Scooby Clinic's own range which seem very highly rated so an SC38 or SC40 could be the way to go. Have a look at the Clinic's billet thread :D

Sorry, yes Brun it has 6 speed box with dccd and pretty sure it has 3port boost solenoid as standard.

To 400bhp have look for TD05-20G which will bring you close to 400bhp and with meth you should be there.
Scoobyclinic turbos like SC40,SC42 will bring you to 400bhp with supported mods, same like with MD321T or MD321H(great turbo with amazing spool) Jura |
