Remap tomorow!

Of to see Bob Rawle tomorrow for remap, I am just a little excited, understand that he does not have rolling road, how will he or I know what sort of power output im gonna get?

Hongkongfooi 19 May 2011 02:21 PM

they have a way of working it out on their laptops....its pretty accurate and you will be getting more cold air in on the road;)

urban 19 May 2011 02:23 PM

He will make an educated guess based on the car and mods.
Then he will measure the power after mapping is complete using the EcuTek software itself.

What car have you got?

Cannon Fodder 19 May 2011 02:36 PM

You will be in very good hands with Bob, I've been to see him recently for a running in map for my Spec C after an engine rebuild/uprate.

He's mapped all three of my Impreza's and has always got good results. :notworthy

When he carried out a road dyno run he uses a program called Ecutek Deltadash and once all the variables have been calculated he will give you an estimated bhp and torque figure (which is very accurate as I had the car dyno'd on a rolling road and the variance was so slight as to be ignored).

He can also send you an Excel spreadsheet which is basically a road dyno plot, also on page 2 you will also get your figures and statistics.

Once I've finished the running in and fitted an uprated twin scroll turbo I'll be back up to see Bob for him to work his magic. :)

I've never found Bob rude at all, I would say he's very straight talking and 'workmanlike' in his methods.

I've always got on very well with him but once you are on a mapping session with him then he's solely concentrating on the mapping and like most people is trying to achieve the best result.

Prior to and after the mapping is over he will happily talk at length and give you the benefit of his vast experience and has always answered my questions whether they are good or not.

My first mapping session with Bob was quite an experience for me as it's quite hard at first to balance the throttle to the desired level but Bob had the patience of a saint despite my lack of ability. :brickwall

KAS35RSTI 19 May 2011 08:31 PM

I understand but there were somethings said that shouldn't not have been said & I personally felt discriminated against.

A very bad experience all in all. I have used other mappers before & needless to say how friendly & helpful they are.

:lol1:

That's quite amusing in the grand scheme of life :)

KAS35RSTI 19 May 2011 09:45 PM

Ye funny but at the same time we were out on the road mapping & i have never held boost like that before so i had to be careful as i had to watch the boost gauge whilst doing high speeds with bends approaching!

There is much more but i rather not mention it.

Apologies for the hijack.
