Fitting injectors....
What is involved in fitting them to a 04 WRX,do the cam covers need removing?
|
Hi there have look at this guide maybe help
http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/engine...02-03-wrx.html http://www.iwsti.com/forums/how-inst...injectors.html Jura |
To be honest i am not fitting them myself.I dropped my car off at a local "Scooby Specialist" to have them fit one turbo, set of pink injectors, plugs, boost solonoid.I had a phonecall today saying they cant finish the job.Cant undo one nut and might have to remove cam covers to fit injectors.New gaskets will be needed at approx £70.Didnt realise this was such a major job.

LoL
If I can do it on my drive, what sort of "specialist" needs to remove the cam covers... :lol1: dunx P.S. Unless they dropped something down one of the breathers :brickwall |
you tell me!!I am well p---ed off. After the the fiasco with the mint wheels and now this.
|
New Gaskets for the turbo maybe but £70 seems a bit steep.
Injectors should be simple to fit! And why oh why would you remove the cam covers for any of those jobs? |
had two out of my car on wed evening and replaced the seals and re-fitted within 45mins. I would be asking exactly what they cant undo?
|
i will be they are ringing me on monday.
|
Mine had a pair of armoured steel shields that needed a long time with a swivel headed 14mm ratcheting spanner to remove...
That was a **** of a job... dunx |
my own fault for going back there

like i said i have had a s--t month what with buying the "mint" wheels aswell. If you see me boarding a plane wait for the next one.
|
i have had work done in the past by some very, very poor so called scooby specialists.but i have never heard of having to remove a driveshaft for any of the jobs you have had done.turbos can sometimes be a bit of a pain to fit as the nuts are almost always seized but 10 hours for the jobs you have had done is a bit over the top to say the least.did they map the car in that time aswell?
|
no mapping, thats being done tomorrow unless i breakdown on the way there.
To be fair they reduced the time to five hours.but left the intercooler tied on the one end with a cable tie.Wasnt even a Blue one!! |

Fixed price, injector change only MY01-05 £70. Fixed price injector change only MY93-00 £25. Usually we are doing other work at the same time so we roll it all in to one job and pass on the time savings to the customer. Beware of any dodgy f***r that tells you driveshafts have to come out :) Turbo, injectors, supply and fit a new set of plugs and 3 port boost solenoid valve, supplied and fitted in reverse order: £90 + £70 + £70 + £50. This includes supply and fit of 3 port boost solenoid and plugs. |
Harvey move to Gloucestershire..
|
come on then spill the beans on who these scooby specialists are?
