Will these fit a Bugeye and are there likely to be any issues with fit with the Hybrid FMIC pipe under the engine?

As far as we are aware there should be no fitting problems on the BugEye models however I cannot say for sure whether this will be affected by a Hybrid FMIC pipe. I will look into this for you and let you know either way. :thumb:

Thats correct. These are a direct replacement for their plastic standard counterparts. :thumb:

You should be able to use your standard fittings to fit these plates as they are a direct replacement for the original items.

I will get a postage cost to Ireland and reply to you here later on today. :thumb:

i'm interested in these, question though does the plate that goes under the engine improve cooling to the sump over the standard plastic one?

Thanks iain

KrisBuc 23 August 2011 04:57 PM

Hi Iain,

As discussed by pm this will not aid cooling. For cooling an oil cooler would be the best buy, This is a direct replacement for the plastic item and you should be able to fit this with your tubular headers no problem. :)

Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of this item fitted to a car. :(

Thanks for the reply, I have an oil cooler fitted but my temps are still higher than those who have removed the undertray, I do not want to run without one and was wondering if your item aided cooling by default (rather than being designed to aid cooling) by its design it might allow more air to get through compared to the oe tray? (If that makes sense)

hence why I'm also interested to see one fitted, happy to be a guinea pig if you'll do me a good price ;) :thumb:

Ed@Japspeed 26 August 2011 05:16 PM

unfortunately the price we have provided is the best price we can do, we have sold lots of these and we are running quite low on stock. :)

mikey30 27 August 2011 02:36 AM

have these fitted on a blobeye.....
bit of modding to be done to fit with gt spec headers but otherwise fine..also have the gearbox one also...nice and tidy unlike the filmsy plastic standard ones..doesnt effect cooling in any way...:thumb::thumb:

Hi do you mind me asking what modifications you needed to make :wonder:

Ed@Japspeed 15 September 2011 04:46 PM

Bump, we have these in stock and ready to dispatch. :)

mikey30 23 October 2011 06:33 PM

gt spec headers sit lower than the subframe does so i had to put washers between subframe and undercover to create a gap big enough for headers not to rub off the undercover!!!

R6HNN 24 October 2011 05:37 PM

anybody have pics of these fitted?

Ed@Japspeed 26 October 2011 10:47 AM

Unfortunately we do not have any pictures of this fitted. Hopefully someone on here has and can post them up.

Beastra 12 June 2013 05:51 AM

Sorry to bump an old thread but was just wondering if these will fit a 2006 Hawkeye STI Type UK? Just had new headers fitted and they touch the factory plastic under tray so had to leave it off for now. Need some sort of skip plate that will fit with aftermarket headers.

Cheers.
