Sorry to hear it Nick. At least though you're in your 40s so not lost her young before she became a grandma :)

Remember the good times and never dwell on the bad!

You will do fella, get yourself a beer... sit back and let the shock and tidal-wave of raw emotion sweep straight through you, no point fighting it. It'll keep hurting and you'll keep falling apart for a while, just make sure you talk to your family and friends while its all going on, regardless of how numb you feel.

FlightMan 30 March 2011 05:46 PM

Sorry to hear of your loss. RIP your Mum.

kingofturds 30 March 2011 05:47 PM

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss Nick. Losing a parent is one of the hardest things someone has to deal with in their life. At least your Mum longer in any pain and in time you will come to remember and cherish the good times you spent together.

Wish 30 March 2011 06:14 PM

Sorry to hear this. May your mum rest in peace without any pain.

You're doing the right thing by looking for support matie.

My dad died three years ago and the support I received from family & friends helped me get through. And still helps now.

Thoughts are with you fella

jods 30 March 2011 06:22 PM

Sorry to hear about your loss Nick. I lost my mum to cancer years ago. I was knocked off balance for a long long time but the pain will gradually get replaced with warm memories of a lovely mum.

Sorry again fella - Don't bottle it up - let yourself grieve.

I'm so sorry, Nick. :( :(

Kev_turbo 30 March 2011 06:27 PM

She has not 'given up' as you state she has lost the battle to a stronger force. Don't ever think of it as giving up.

Don't try and deal with it on your own, your friends may not know what to say but will be there for you. Use them.

spanner monkey 30 March 2011 06:39 PM

I went through the exact same thing about 4 years ago :( but it`s true what they say......time is a great healer. Obviously you`ll never forget, but it`ll get easier pal. My condolences :(

Ps. probably best if you make yourself busy on Sunday and be with people.

So sorry to hear of your loss Nick. As someone said earlier, ride out the storm, you are strong enough to come out the other side. It is what your mum would have wanted.

RIP.
