Bugeye STI PPP/ Blobeye STI PPP

Hi All,

Whats the main differences between the two?
Do they share the same engine/suspension....
I know they have the same BHP, what one is the better car

Thanks in advance :luxhello:

beastgtir 15 March 2011 10:16 PM

the blob eye 2005my - it has the diff control n wide track

okolatsis 15 March 2011 10:19 PM

I want to compare the bug against a my03

CHOLTON 15 March 2011 10:23 PM

Blob looks better , imo of course ! I am biased though .

Pink_Floyd 15 March 2011 10:24 PM

Most people will say the Bug is ugly :lol1: I have a Prodrive style and I actually think it's a nicer looking car than the blob with the different bumper.

Mechanically I think most will agree that the Bug has the strongest mechanicals of all the UK spec cars.

:cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo: Blob all the way .....

Midlife...... 15 March 2011 10:29 PM

Until the wider track / DCCD of the later blobs, the UK bug and the UK Blob were basically the same underneath the skin.

I think Subaru had a shock with how ugly people thought the bug was and simply dressed it in a new blob skin............

Really Shaun? I was sure quite a few in the know here suggested the Bug had the strongest running gear :wonder:

Midlife...... 15 March 2011 10:47 PM

The "early" bug had different internals, in particular the pistons were stronger, I'm not sure how long that lasted as I guess they like to build them to the lowest budget they could.

my bug looks 10 times better than the blob the bug prodrive stlye is one sexy ass car. but im not biased honestly :)

CHOLTON 15 March 2011 11:08 PM

Both great cars , prodrive bugs look nice . Rear lights on the blob are nicer but can be installed on a bug .

Midlife...... 15 March 2011 11:10 PM

you have to cut or change the rear bumper though........

you dont have to cut or change the rear bumper to fit blob lights on a bug you only have to remove the backing as i know a few who have done this on bug and none have changed the bumper:thumb:

prodrive style rather than blob unless 05+ with dccd v7 sti forged pistons

EddScott 16 March 2011 02:08 PM

Did the Prodrive Bugeyes have the stronger internals?

As said above, unless its a late 54 (you can get them on 54) UK DCCD-A car then I just don't see the point buying a blob over a bug.

I know we spend alot of money on our cars but I would really resent paying £400 tax on a hawk - even if I could afford to spend £1000 a month on mods it would pi55 me right off.

Black Prodrive STI, chunky FMIC, lowered a bit and with those big offset wheels you can get (in white) with maybe green calipers and detailing. Thats my plan "when" I get one.

Littleted 16 March 2011 02:15 PM

Blob here too

dunx 16 March 2011 02:20 PM

Prodrive bug-fan-boy here...

1. They changed the synchros as some early cars had problems ( STI ).
2. They tweaked the front suspension for improved "feel".
3. They add a nasty face-lift.
4. They put the price up !

LoL

BAD BOY V 16 March 2011 07:55 PM

Blob looks better in my opinion if i was to swith to a bug eye, it definately have to be a white one with black wheels!
