Lol at ant :)

I like anything shooting related but airsoft I really just dont see the point. I used to own a few inc gas powered ones as a teenager and even remember having shootouts in Uni halls of residence :)

Thats one thing but grown men running around outside shooting each other with tiny little plastic pellets in a very trimmed down version of paintball just seems pointless. I mean how do you even confirm a hit? Its not like paintball where its obvious and hurts.

I'll stick with my shotgun dusting clays :)

Ant 11 March 2011 08:18 AM

In my teens I used to work at a paintball place and when the airsoft guys used to hire the place , they was just like the picture.

The stuff they wore was hilarious

rosssti 11 March 2011 10:00 AM

Ive played both, and its miles better than paintball, and it does hurt....

Simon C 11 March 2011 10:32 AM

Not wishing to start a war here, but can someone explain the concept behind this?

I've done paintball and enjoyed it, but apart from the weapons being more realisitic, I don't see the reasons for airsoft. How do kills get recorded etc, which is obvious with paint markers etc.

I know I'm slightly jaded becuase I used to run round fields with real firearms, so see little point to airsoft, so hoping someone can explain it.

300 rounds a minute, 350fps and using places like abandoned hospitals and factories, over night for events actually looks like a good laugh.

I always find paintball guns to be utter ****e and not accurate at all.
At least with an FA-Mas I stand a chance! :D

rosssti 11 March 2011 11:42 AM

Nail on the head, dont knock it till youve tried it, plus there nearly all run by x miltry,
Paint ball is just running about shooting. Airsoft is more tactical.

Ant 11 March 2011 12:50 PM

Are we talking paintball with your mates or proper paintball? If it's the former you're wrong paintball is very tactical and if you use a proper paintball gun they can be very accurate and get through a few bullets themselves.

Both are ****e to be honest

Boro 15 March 2012 09:07 PM

I've just registered myself with UKARA after playing 3 games of airsoft at a local site and am well and truly addicted.

Love the tactical side of things. Got my own RIF a few days ago.

I have to ask (as a bIg paintball player in the 90's and early 2000's so I am biased) how do you confirm kills on airsoft?????

jay vr6 17 March 2012 07:07 PM

I used to airsoft alot, one my best times was being choppered into a built up village At Sennybridge in Wales :) that was good fun. Oh and being run ragged all weekend by John Mac god rest his soul :)

I used to play paintball a few times a year and some of the kit people would turn up in, you'd think they were off to Iraq. Full army fatigues and camo, Bowie knives and paint greandes the lot. They nearly cried when they were not allowed to take their knives and grenades on the field.

You rely on the honesty of the person to shout hit and raise their hand or hear them squeal !!!.

Great sport, try to go couple times a month, got a weekend game in April with camping at the Muckleburgh Tank Museum :)

Its an SR25, locked to semi so runs at around 425fps with a 40mm grenade launcher, yours for £230 !!!!!, less the optics but includes 2 mags and a battery.

If I hadn't just spent a few hundred quid on other stuff I would have been very interested in that!

I've just forked out for this...

Boro 23 March 2012 10:19 PM

How does he like it? I'm surprised by how heavy it is!

My gun now weighs quite a bit. Hopefully not too much but I'll find out Sunday!

Mog 23 March 2012 10:30 PM

I like it a lot but it is very heavy, try running around all day with the full metal SR25 and launcher lol
