missing

hi people got the standard airbox on, oil and spark plugs changed car was running nice and smooth the next day started from cold and it jerks propa bad and wont go pass 4000 revs but once driven for a bit it is ok like that everyday any ideas what it can be.its a 1993 wrx import

Billet 24 February 2011 01:55 AM

If it was mapped to an induction kit and 7b plugs and you have put the airbox back on along with 6b plugs then that could be the problem.

subaru121 24 February 2011 02:10 PM

i dont no if its mapped with an induction kit but i used the same plugs and its got a z4 ecu the mechanic was having trouble changing the plugs maybe ones not in properly

subaru121 24 February 2011 10:58 PM

still the same can anyone help

Clarky2.5wrx 25 February 2011 05:17 PM

Take the spark plugs out, makesure gaps are right, and are all in correctly.
I would also check coil packs for any cracks and general condition.
If it wont rev past 4000 then it must be something quite obvious.
Also make sure your maff and air box is all sound.
should be one of them mate.
Hope that helps.

hi people the cars still the same running lumpy and juderring when started up after a short while it s ok.i changed the plugs to the same one but dont no how to gap them and put 5 litres of new oil in when changing oil any suggestion

Maz 13 March 2011 03:10 PM

Sounds like a sensor. You need to get it on a diagnostic machine, that will give you
an error code which should tell you the problem.

subaru121 13 March 2011 06:52 PM

theres no lights on dash was fine before

subaru121 13 March 2011 10:36 PM

can anyone help

Turbotits 14 March 2011 12:20 AM

Did you put the full 5 litres of oil in? thats too much

scott181 14 March 2011 12:51 AM

Should only be about 4 or 4half liters mate

wazlee 14 March 2011 01:18 AM

As above, maybe too much oil and causing 'misting' of the MAF wire which would cause fueling issues.

I could be wrong and it is sth else - but pretty sure should only be 4.5 Ltrs at max.

subaru121 14 March 2011 02:23 AM

yeah hi mate left it with my local mechanic who told me he put all five litres and changed the spark plugs it was fine on the way home next day it was missing, judering, feels weak but got better after bout ten minutes driving since then havnt been driving it much dont no were to start from no lights on dash starts fine

scott181 14 March 2011 09:57 AM

I really would drop some oil out of it mate coz 5 is to much .won't do your car any good.

subaru121 17 March 2011 03:56 PM
