BC Racing Time Attack Impreza #6
Some of you will already have seen the birth of this project on facebook ... if you havent then you can follow it on:
http://www.facebook.com/#!/bcracingtimeattack I will be posting updates, live results, videos, photos, testing etc on there very frequently and main updates, videos, photos on here. Followiing an ongoing relationship with Bren and the team at Apex we have got together and given the car the full BC treatment for competing within Time Attack Club Pro class in 2011. This is a great move from my point of view and brings a much better level of support than I have ever had and hopefully even better chance of doing well within the ever competitive pro class. I am looking forward to working closely with the guys there over this season and getting some great results for the team :thumb: The car will be changing 'a little' from last year's spec but this was it at Cadwell late last year.. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ART_5262-2.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...1/ART_4517.jpg Plans for this year ... - a little more power :D - a little more aero :) - a little more reliability :thumb: Evolution is the name of the game for this year as it was close last year but not quite there and not there often enough ;) Main Spec: Engine built by RaceDynamix EJ257 Linered block Carillo Rods Cosworth Pistons ARP Heads Studs ARC Race Shells Zen Performance Dry Sump system Lateral Performance GT35 Turbo Lateral Performance Headers & Uppipe Kelford Cams Apex Twin Plate Clutch Syvecs S6GP ECU mapped by RaceDynamix Transmission Std 6 Speed DCCD box Zen Performance LSD Fuel System Lateral Performance ID 2000cc injectors Fuelab Prodigy Fuel Pump Fuelab Fuel Filter Walbro 255 lift pump Custom Swirl Pot Carl Davey Rails HEL braided fuel lines Wizards of Nos Nitrous System Suspension BC Racing ER Series Coilovers Perrin front and rear ARBS Perrin drop links K Sport Adjustable suspension arms Custom Zen Performance suspension mods Brakes K Sport 355mm Front Brakes K Sport 330mm Rear Brakes Performance Friction 01 Pads HEL Braided lines Exterior / Aero All custom bodywork by ABW Custom aero by RaceDynamix with assistance from RedBull F1 BC Racing Forged Wheels Other main partners for 2011: Lateral Performance CDF Racing Keith Michaels Insurance Syvecs CJS Norwich Zen Performance ABW AS Performance HEL Bright Green Detailing Thanks for your support and I look forward to a great season :thumb: Some pics to keep you going til the graphics are finalised ... http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...1/IMG_0995.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...1/IMG_1000.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...1/IMG_1001.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...1/IMG_0999.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...1/IMG_1008.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...1/IMG_1006.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...1/IMG_1002.jpg Lots more to follow :D |

Yeah was quite pleased with that :D
The target is a genuine 700bhp for this year and to build on the set up of the car to help it put that to the track in the most effective way. Obviously waiting on final info on the tyre choice for this year as we will be running on Pirelli Tyres as that will affect how the car is set up for each round. |
Wishing you well for this season mate, can't wait to see what times you do with 'proper power' ;)

That is the target bhp but I don't want to sacrifice spool up or response for some figures on a graph so we (ie Mark at Lateral lol) are speccing a turbo specific to the job in hand. I will of course continue to use my favoured E85 fuel so fingers crossed it will be a good balance of power, response and outright speed with just a squirt or two of Nitrous to help things along :thumb: |
Duncan where are you buying E85 fuel from? thought it was discontinued? car will be awesome this season!
|
Good luck Duncan :)
|
Think Duncan is using race E85.
Question for you though Duncan, if you are using nos then why is the turbo spec so important ? Nos will look after the spool. |
Subscribed :thumb:

Awesome stuff Duncan, was only a matter of time before you got proper power I'll be there cheering you on again this year, Good luck :)

I dont want to have to rely on it Clive - will be running most of the time without NOS and just saving the gas for 'special occasions' :)

Best of luck Dunc

Cheers. The flexibility of adjustment and also the ability to change spring rates easily is ideal for a track set up. With very little actual change to the car in 2010 it was around 2-3 seconds a lap quicker. part of that gain is down to the suspension. |

Pirelli really know how to make tyres but I hope we get the cream of the crop and show the real potential of the TA machines against the BTCC times - i never much liked the 888s - A048 are much better IMO but I am sure Pirelli can show a trick or two :D |
Good luck Duncan.
I take it the suspension mods will involve some jiggery pokery with locating points and angles etc...? |
