Wiseco forged pistons
Hello, just wanted some opinions on these pistons please for a 2.5 build, what power can these run safely, are they a noisey piston?
Any input welcome Thanks |

You can have look for CP pistons or better Wossner.

I've gotem in MY08 Hatch Sti - no noise at all.
Apparently slightly higher/taller skirt on piston than some = v good for a road car / longevity. Had mine done by the man above.... Hmmh... no not HIM, lol but the one and only Alan Jeffrey above / down at Enginetuner - very professional outfit. NB. - there again some consider AJ a tuning god lol lol. A |
Thanks for the replies everyone, are cp better than wiseco?

Wiseco/Cosworth all day long they are not used in most big power builds for no reason.

If i ordered standard size forged pistons 99.5mm as the block is good would all i need is a hone as i was going to go oversized but i'm getting different views on this as some are saying oversized to 100mm would be ok but then i get differing views stating that the ej257 cylinders are thin anyway and could compromise reliabilty?
Would i need to be setting the ring gaps aswell? Cheers. |
Anyone whos done a 2.5 build? :)

Check for bore ovality as the 2.5's are more prone to it than the 2.0, if the bore needs correcting then go for 99.75mm pistons, which in the future you still have an the 100mm option, yes the bore walls are thin, but there's plenty of 2.5's out there running 100mm bore without problems.
Always check ring gaps on build, never trust anything out the box. |
Agree with Daz, Cosworth are the way to go
