Seeing as the 'petrol set to rise' thread is so popular I thought it might be an idea to help explain what all the extra money generated may go towards.

Cheaper than the lorry they were using the other night (on BBC1)

CHOLTON 13 January 2011 08:36 PM

I love Evora's ! Normally when I watch cop shows they can't help bouncing off cars , that would be some expensive fiberglass to repair ! Didn't police in Essex have an Exige for a while ?

Seen that, couldn't believe it. All for the sake of catching drivers on mobiles :wonder:

True, but they could have done that from a regular police car.

brownstain85 13 January 2011 10:19 PM

That boy was a professional p**s artist, no two ways about it. Sad thing is that it verged on amusing until you came back to reality and took stock of what the consequences of his lorry hitting anything would be

At this rate though the Police won't have anyone to stop as nobody will be able to put fuel into their cars

RE54 14 January 2011 12:22 AM

whats the point?

surely the tuned up evo's and scoobys that the interceptors are powerful enough, and practical.

i think its a joke if any police force get a car like that for a squad car

I've heard that up here in Scotland that the Traffic Police are gonna get hammered due to the cutbacks, will be very funny if you spot the traffic pig that was mouthy to you behind the counter in Mcdonalds

But then how will the government pay for all these new luxuries? 22.5% VAT maybe?

SRSport 14 January 2011 08:12 AM

If we are all driving electric cars in 2 years how will the government generate the taxes they lose from petrol? Will we see the same style of tax on electricity? So now not only would it be expensive to run a car but also to stay warm in your own home?
