Wowee nice video that - did you also click on the link for the 2011 Sti "First Drive" with the saloon version ? looks good ;)

R1CH D 13 January 2011 11:55 AM

I didn't, have a look now.
Just watched it, seen it before. Theres one on there somewhere between the 2011 and 2007 sti. 2011 wins.

Rally fan 555 13 January 2011 12:32 PM

It would be good to see how various modded Scoobs, with differing setups would do against the WRC car :)

R1CH D 13 January 2011 03:20 PM

I think it would take something very special to come anywhere near close. Most of it is down to the drivetrain I think, as they only push out 300BHP allbeit with a restrictor. No doubt a more knowledgable force will correct me if I'm wrong.;)

Black-Hawk 13 January 2011 05:32 PM

Like that:)

R1CH D 13 January 2011 05:34 PM

31.6ish seconds faster overall.:notworthy

But it's all torque!

R1CH D 13 January 2011 09:41 PM

Whats the torque figure on a world rally car then?

The Bugeye WRC is my fav of all the Subaru cars. :notworthy

Black-Hawk 13 January 2011 10:07 PM

The 2010 focus wrc had 300bhp/550nm just over 400lbs.ft @ 4000rpm, same as my wrx but i get it @ 3000rpm, the c4 wrc has a extra 20 or so nm.

I don't know what your laughing about do you remember your famous quote that you car would out accelerate and have a higher top speed than an STi. :lol1:

That must be a unique gearbox in your WRX, it allows for faster acceleration and then alters it's gearing to allow a higher top end speed than a 6 speed STi gearbox. :D

Black-Hawk 13 January 2011 10:33 PM

If i said in the past my car is quicker/faster than a std sti i'll stick by it, and why would'nt a 380-400bhp wrx with over 400 lbs.ft be faster than a std sti, it does go well past the 160 mph with gps to back it up:wonder:, i'd put my money where my mouth is on that one.

Cannon Fodder 13 January 2011 10:40 PM

And the theoretical top speed on my Spec C is 182mph if it were too reach it, but it would take a longer straight than the the Bagle Brook in order attain it. ;)

Got any independent proof of this supercar beating WRX then? :lol1:

I take it by 'faster' you mean top speed - as your WRX will be limited by the overall drive ratio which means that in terms of top end speed your car will always have a lower top speed than an STi with a 6 speed gearbox no matter how much power you are achieving. :thumb:

Now now children.

And jarvis, what's with all the shouting??

No I can't bring myself to ruin your hope and dreams. :nono:

Oh yes I can come to think off it - Santa is not real, I know you will be devastated but you'll have to be strong and come to terms with it. :lol1:

That is the local burglar, Santa Claus leaves present except in Neeef where he 'does' over your house. :lol1:

Next time you see him kick him firmly in the nether regions and then 'rifle' his 'sack' and take back all that he has pinched from you plus a few more goodies as is the Neeeef way. :content:

Or you could take the alternative meaning and do something entirely different...

As Harry Hill would say FIGHT :fight::fight::fight:
Day out at Bruntingthorpe anyone?:norty::norty:

shambles 14 January 2011 05:06 PM

Just my take on the arguement would a modded one be faster - simply NO on roads like in the clip. Things like tyres, roll cage, sequential box, active diffs, composite panles, etc etc all make the rally do what its supposed to do. There is no comparison in the car or the price of building either.

STI Glenn 14 January 2011 06:17 PM

Lets be sensible here boys the sti for a road car done pretty good
