4 wheels at the rear I can understand sort of, but surely 4 wheels at the front reduces the turning circle and increases drag?

astra_dave 21 December 2010 02:48 PM

i get upset buying 4 new tyres, never mind having to buy 6!

JonMc 21 December 2010 02:52 PM

It's not a new concept:D

ugly

Coffin Dodger 21 December 2010 03:42 PM

Maybe it's better in the snow :D

Wurzel 21 December 2010 03:45 PM

So it is still rear wheel drive!

It is safer if a tyre blows! Not if it is a rear tyre it isn't !!!!

What about the Ken Tyrell F1 car from the 70's?

chrisowe 21 December 2010 07:29 PM

Didn't Panther try this in the 70's with the Panther Six?

:lol1: Do you think :D

Of course, Ferrari's are well known for their inherent understeer and need 4 contact patches at the front to remove it

Smaller tyres on the front reduce aerodynamic drag, also you have an extra set of brakes and more contact area for the tyres.

dpb 22 December 2010 08:54 AM

But more weight as well !

Yes it did not catch on anyway-looked interesting though.
