You lot seam to enjoy my car wash videos ;-)

Had 2 crashes last week.

One driver started his car while in gear, shot into the car wash and crashed into somebody else, but the video footage is not so great as i only have the rear camera running at the moment.

This one from yesterday was a cracker though.

The track stops because the weekend lad was loading in the next customer, mateyboy decides he should turn his wheel to the left and drive off the track crashing into the blowers ? :Suspiciou :cuckoo: :lol1:

Weekend lad attempts to guide him back on the track, then realising he was not standing in such a great position so he moves to a safer place, before the chap then drives over the track and crashes in to the gearbox and motor which drive the conveyor track :cuckoo: :Suspiciou :lol1:

robby 25 October 2010 06:50 PM

old people and cars don't mix :(

did he damage the front wing? did you bill him for your damage?

StickyMicky 25 October 2010 06:52 PM

Damaged front wing, and both corners of his front bumper.

He never damaged the wash, bar denting the blower and chipping the paint off.

We did have to close down for some time to check everything, which meant turning away customers, his drive off towards the right had him mount the motor and gearbox/chain that drives the conveyor track :cuckoo:

It's not funny really though, that silly old git shouldn't be driving a car at all.

Crazy...:freak3:

salsa-king 25 October 2010 08:18 PM

why did he try drive off anyway when he was already on the drive chain?

jaymaxy 25 October 2010 08:20 PM

Luminous 25 October 2010 08:23 PM

Just how many times did he stall it after he had crashed

That has got to be one expensive car wash for him. And no doubt he will be complained to all who will listen that it was not his fault

Welcome to my world :(

:lol1:

Seriously, we have "incidents" almost every single day, 9/10 times they realise they have spazzed out and correct the mistake without it being video worthy.

Its a ****ing nightmare to be honest.

And it happens at every fecking site as well. :cuckoo:

If i had to generalise, its probably the older people who do the epic fails.
Mostly men, but this is probably because we deal with more men drivers anyway, you have the older folk, maybe not as nimble as they were, cant really clean the car themselves, so they have to get somebody else to do it.

I would say i have 4 or 5 old regulars who in my opinion should not be driving.

But generally, i have seen it happen with a large cross section of folk.

Most people just drive around in a complete trance and never pay attention to anything until it is too late, a VAST amount of people on the roads now, do not know how to operate their own cars, they do not know how to switch off auto wipers, and do not know how to switch off auto hand brakes.

I have in the past asked a lady to switch off her wipers, and was told in no uncertain terms "you cant switch them off, this is the way Mercedes designed it" :lol1:

It is exactly the same with these bloody auto hand brakes, the amount of people who look genuinely surprised when we explain how they are supposed to release the hand brake on a Renault Scenic, is staggering.

I had a bloke in one of them huge BMW`s last week, is it an 8 series? unable to work out how to release the hand brake, this bloke was a business type, you would think he would be pretty switched on, no clue at all.

I couldn't help him either as it was the first time i had tried to put one through the wash.

Had to give him his money back and send him on his way.

Certainly not a very sharp cookie. I was reminded of Compo when he first got out of the car. He had the right hat anyway!

It is surprising how many people have no idea how mechanical things work and also assume that all will work in their favour without them having to to anything on their own behalf.

Must be a constant worry Sticky.

Les
