not happy with insurance quotes

male 31 years old 3 points 5 years ncb on a S plate sti and they are wanting £1100

not amused with that at all,it would cost me about the same to insure a m3 or a v8 range rover that costs more than 4 times as much as the scoob

stevebt 10 October 2010 06:13 PM

Get intouch with Gary Moulson from Kieth Michaels insurance, I pay £700 a year with all my mods declared and I even have a 2nd driver on the policy :D

The Dogs B******s 10 October 2010 06:17 PM

Another vote for Keith Michaels,i was only paying £600 with all mods declared and it even had a female second driver:D

scotty30 10 October 2010 06:25 PM

im waiting on a reply from keith michaels

sti_scott 10 October 2010 06:56 PM

it all depends on your post code.
mine went up this year by £250 but i got a quote using my sisters address and it dropped by £400.

same car just different address. gutted:mad:

Paben 10 October 2010 07:13 PM

Yep, Gary's the man at Keith Michaels - £420 with 9 years ncb for a much modded Sti, admittedly I do live in the middle of nowhere which helps :thumb:

you need to to speak to Gary directly the moment you speak to someone else about your quote or submit a internet quote request, that person then deals with you and gary cant do anything to help.

Mrchips 10 October 2010 07:25 PM

Keep trying keith micheals, as you will get him. Sometimes takes ages.

mgcvk 10 October 2010 07:26 PM

Yes you need to ring Keith Michaels and speak to Gary himself - he can be hard to get hold of, but worth persevering.

Oh-Flock 10 October 2010 08:05 PM

think a few pople are going to have a shock come renewal time

insurance has gone up a stupid amount, especially if you live in certain post coded areas

webba23 10 October 2010 08:07 PM

I was dreading my renewal but in the end it only went up around £100 or so 700 to 800 and that is with an outstanding total loss claim going through. Not my fault but still outstanding all the same. I'm 31 9 years ncb and that is on a 98 Type R with exhaust declared. Try Greeenlight Insurance I highly recommend them.

You're ancient though Steve, and changing gear like your nana isn't a second driver. :p

As above though, give Gary a ring.

NEILB1 10 October 2010 08:23 PM

When i was shopping around considering what car to get, most quotes where double for a 1998 Sti TypeR than for an RB320 at double the value:lol1:

seddomyster 10 October 2010 08:47 PM

cheapest ive found is 1700 with no points, fire+theft, 25 with 4 yr ncb an thats in northwest for a uk2000. ridiculous.
not paying that so will probably sell

Moley 10 October 2010 08:52 PM

If you live in an area with high personal injury claims then it is going to be hard getting a good quote these days.

seddomyster 10 October 2010 08:54 PM

yep i think thats what it will be. will be trying to ge in touch with you in next few weeks moley an hopefully get me the best quote

And they wonder why so many people are now driving without insurance? Ive said it before and Ill say it again until this suing and crash for cash nonsense is stamped out I can see more and more people saying shove the insurance, and if I copy some plates I wont get stopped either.

My insurance was double for my scoob here than when I lived in Spain. I was looking at the same price for my scoob in England that I paid for a brand new Mercedes Viano used as a luxury taxi there. As you said ridiculous.

seddomyster 10 October 2010 09:18 PM

i wouldnt even risk driving without insurance. big brother is always watching. quotes change each day but i want less than 1k an ill be happy. its an expensive country an will only get more expensive

Moley 10 October 2010 09:23 PM

Try having an accident if you're not insured. Who do you think will be getting the bill?

With so much PI it's an incentive to make sure you're insured.

willsy369 10 October 2010 09:24 PM

try Adrian flux or A plan, i got an import S reg STi, mods declared £580 fully comp and im 32 mate- tried the company everyone on here recommends but they never got back to me

seddomyster 10 October 2010 09:27 PM

are imports getting cheaper to insure than uk models these days. i may aswell get an sti lol

Moley 10 October 2010 09:32 PM

Not much difference in price really

seddomyster 10 October 2010 09:40 PM

i wish i knew this 2 yr ago. dough!!!

try making a claim with a-plan and then see how slow they are at getting back to you.
