Anti roll bar question

Hi, my classic uk turbo has

Bc coilovers
anti lift kit
polly bushes on front
polly anti roll bar bushes front and rear
alloy drop links, front and rear.

Also sti 20mm rear roll bar.
Standard uk front roll bar.

Was going to put the sti 20mm front roll bar on (18 is standard)

Can anyone tell me how this would affect the car - understeer more? Would it turn in better? Would it be better to get the front one on, and then get a 22 rear?

cheers

AFAIK, the reason you don't do the front one is because it upsets the handling, MORE understeer, or that's my understanding. Had that from Powerstation;)

G'day everyone,

ade_sti, the 20mm rear bar is a light upgrade considering the the changes you have and ideally, would be better matched with a 22-24mm rear and preferably adjustable.

However, if leaving as is, Alcazar is correct and you will increase understeer on exit though you will have slightly better inititla turn-in rsponse.

Hope that helps

Don't bother with the front, get a 22mm rear instead if you want to improve the handling

That's what I did: 22mm rear adjustable, front left alone except for bushes.

Edited to say: I wish the Whitleline ones would keep their appearnace, the paint has all but flaked off mine. I might re-Hammerite it RED!

Perrin gear suffers from 'Flakey' paint issues aswell

The bar twists, a thin layer of anything hard on the surface is sure to crack/flake.

You need an "elastic" paint.

Having said that, my Whiteline bars have only really shown wear inside the bushes, where friction rubs the paint off...despite me regreasing them 2 or 3 times a year. And that's in the salt-infested Danish winter! So, I cannot complain....been on the car for 3 years.

G'day everyone,

alcazar, RED! Wow, that's a switch. Sorry to hear you're having issues, can you tell me how old the swaybar is as we've made a lot of changes to the finsih in the last year or so?

Cheers
