Litchfield Mk2 Type 25 for sale by litchfields a good buy?

How sexy is this car :P

http://www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/s...st.asp?inc=314

I want it!!

A good buy? Considering for the same money you can get low mileage M5 which has satnav, leather, heated seats etc etc

richie001 06 August 2010 05:10 PM

It's hard to said because there are 2 completely different cars and are aimed at different markets. It depends on what you want.

Not much help Sorry.

Well its 20k cheaper than the cosworth impreza and better specc'd with more power ;)

Tony:)

I would of thought the new turbos make them obsolete. You can have the same power for a lot less if u got a spec c and went for his new turbos. And you would still have about 7k left to play with.

TonyBurns 06 August 2010 05:30 PM

These do have a full cosworth rebuilt engine though Immy ;) and uprated suspension.

Tony:)

Luckyscoob 06 August 2010 05:46 PM

In my eyes its the ultimate impreza. :notworthy

yes but the M5 doesn't have the burble nor the turbo spool and it can't possibly be more fun to drive than an subaru.

juggers 06 August 2010 06:54 PM

It's not based on the spec c is it looks like an STI Just noticed it's got a bigger turbo and fmic i bet it goes like stink.

Lucky bugger!

BIG FUD 06 August 2010 07:05 PM

430 bhp standard so yes it does go well lol And i dont mean 430 bhp of lag i mean 430bhp on tap in 5th gear while your chilling.

Hammer man 06 August 2010 07:10 PM

And if you get your hands on "Total Impreza Issue 4", you can read all about it....

Shaun 06 August 2010 08:32 PM

Buy the M5 if you want something that is slower and makes you look like an old man! :D

Have a drive of my Spec C and find out what a MKII Type25 engine can REALLY perform like, couple that will a jollop of race fuel and you are banging out 600bhp! :D Not that is why you would buy the Cosworth Type25, but you do have some movement for future upgrades if you wish and the difference in drive for road use (and let's be honest that is what we are comparing) is immense between a 2ltr and 2.5ltr at even 400bhp, what with all that lowdown torque.

A TYPE25 is a TYPE25 and it matters not what you do with a standard car, it will never be a TYPE25. To people that want a TYPE25, that IS THE important factor.

As ever it is horses for courses. :)

Fulmentaljack3t 06 August 2010 08:52 PM

I thought this would be more fun :P

I'm buying it and am gonna have lots of driving it!! Has been uprated from a standard type 25 by litchfield and according to Iain is in absolutely mint condition. I can't wait to pick it up and experience the power!!!

Can I be an idiot newbie and ask what a Type 25 is?

Fulmentaljack3t 06 August 2010 09:02 PM

I'm gonna be sorry to see my beautiful Black mk1 go though :(

Quite a few of us are jealous. Have never been in a Type 25, but I hear the handling is as special as the outright grunt. Enjoy mate!

amullally 06 August 2010 09:12 PM

That car is a beaut

Google is your friend!! Also go on youtube and search for "litchfield type 25"

They go like stink and handle fantastically an all round excellent car that puts supercars 3 times the price to shame :thumb:

Immy you IMO are bang on the buck in many ways here, the spec c from a previous post can run the same power but it does have the cosworth engine and more Importantly it has the name and badge! A type20 / type25 speaks for itself and that's what most bought it for, I know I did!! But as you say at 30k it's a lot of money for a 5 year old impreza but it has had a lot done to it, last STD type 25 (if you can call them that lol) was up at 26/7k if I remember right, buy the time you have bought a spec c for 16/17k you got 10 left to play with but fit a set of AST's (full set up) buy a turbo and supporting mods the. Get them fitted your 10k will very quickly get chewed, then the cost of mapping I doubt there will be much left but with the type25 you get the cosworth block and the badge!!
As for the response and mapping etc I have to believe you give any jdm impreza to the likes of bob rawle, simon jgm and I am sure they will get you the same figures not knocking what Iain can do with mapping but a lot of people use the responsiveness as a big reason.

Terminator X 07 August 2010 01:26 PM

I couldn't bring myself to spend £30k in one hit on any Scoob although that T25 does look  it's 2nd hand 911 money after all, are GT3s that cheap yet :norty:

RS4s too:
