You will need a complete TD05 turbo as the , water lines and connection banjo for the oil feed are different to that of the TD04.
Finally a remap to suit the TD05 to get the best performance and safety out of it. |
Okay, so everything is different. I'll be mapping it myself. Thanks!

Out of interest, what if the same question was TD04 -> VF22? I believe a different oil feed is required with a restrictor for the roller bearing turbo.. can anyone shed the facts on this also? Thanks
|
That is correct mate as most vf turbo's are ball bearing housed means they require less oil to feed them where as a sleeve bearing turbo requires more oil. I fitted a td05 turbo to a wrx back in april and the the water pipes were exactly the same as were the banjo bolts for the oil on the td04,so no need to change - both sleeve bearing turbos.

Am I right in thinking the VF22 was fitted to the 22b model? Should this mean I can get all the pipes/fitting I need from Subaru direct? Does anyone have a list of all that's required to fit this turbocharger to a MY99 car? Thanks.

Anyone? :)

If you are fitting a vf 22 then you will need the top banjo bolt, your water feed pipes off your td04 will fit, they are normally joined by a small piece of metal between each pipe, simply bend back and forth till the metal snaps then bolt to turbo accordingly using copper washers both sides of the bolt .:thumb:

midnight- cheers, i'll try and find the right banjo fitting.
