Got my Telephone bill and a weird number has appeared which I don't recognise and which has a massive charge for ringing ...

The number is - 07041333804 ............

Google shows nothing and I cannot think for the life of me why that number should be contacted .... any cast any light on it .... don't post up if it's some Tiawanese Whore House! ;) :lol1:

Good god ..... you are good!

That was an Impreza I was interested in ..... it was a Russian owner ...... B4stard!!!!

pslewis 11 July 2010 08:47 PM

I've been scammed and shafted, obviously ...... no wonder he spoke with broken English and the conversation went on so long!

Done up like a kipper!

Unless it's an AutoTrader arranged number?

I think it a number for Curry's!

Les :)

The Zohan 12 July 2010 11:15 AM

Is it the number for Saga, Age Concern, Incontenance Pants R Us telephone ordering line or the Parkinsons Disease Society???

SinghSuperStud 12 July 2010 01:14 PM

personal numbers make the owner some money(although the rules have changed slightly).

this type of number is typically used by companies that run for sale adverts - basically the number maps onto a mobile number and then you never have to give out your proper number.

Price varies from 8p/min upto 50p/min

You might want to try calling it and checking who it goes to - if it rings, check it's not connected and you're just being played a ringing tone(eawsier to check from mobile). The missed call scam relied upon giving several thousand missed calls to random numbers, people see the number on their phone or answerphone and call back. The call gets connected but it plays a ringing tone - you think it's still ringing but you're actually getting charged and somebody somewhere is making money!!!

pslewis 12 July 2010 01:22 PM

gallois got it right .... quite how he/she found it is beyond my abilities .... but I knew SN would be able to locate the number :thumb:

Yes, it was a seller of an Impreza on AutoTrader who used the Telesafe option ... at 37.5p a minute!!! And I had to pay for the very long call

The seller was very cagey and very unwilling to dosclose much information, I nearly rang off early as he was being so evasive .... but thought that I would give the conversation a chance as he was clearly cautious and foreign!! A nicety which has cost me :(

Check those Autotrader numbers!! And I would advice you not to use a Telesafe number!

ALi-B 12 July 2010 01:43 PM

Yowzers, I never realised they were that expensive.

Terminator X 12 July 2010 01:53 PM

Puts people off IMHO so I don't / wouldn't use it anyway. Prefer a landline (best) or UK mobile (OK).

the thing is that number looks like a UK mobile number, so how can you tell if its a telesafe one (or one latched onto another number) ?

Ray_li 12 July 2010 11:47 PM

Hi Pete.

you after another/replacement Impreza?

I'll be surprised if you still own one

Ray

+Doc+ 13 July 2010 12:25 AM

If it starts 070 I believe.

Leslie 13 July 2010 08:46 AM

What a rip off-yet again. It seems to be getting worse all the time now. Too much greed about.

Les
