Which is a pity as I was hoping they would shoot him.

Don't worry, plenty of time yet, either by his own hand or by the hand of the law.

The Rig 09 July 2010 09:26 PM

why dont they just take out his knees/elbows to disarm him

oh yeah, "his human rights" YAWN

what a waste of feckin time and money

Milamber 09 July 2010 09:37 PM

Stunned by the shockingly shabby shambles of a "news" report on bbc at the moment. If you have nothing to say then just don't bother, just desperately filling air time at the moment.

Luminous 09 July 2010 09:41 PM

They want to capture the "live" moment that it all goes down......sad sycophantic TV if you ask me...hence I am watching ashes to ashes.

ScoobyDriverWannabe 09 July 2010 09:41 PM

Now I know why they have so many speed cameras.

Never seen so many BMWs

Hammer man 09 July 2010 09:43 PM

ashes to ashes you say,,,,,, what channels that on please?

Luminous 09 July 2010 09:49 PM

I'm afraid Ashes to Ashes is currently only on the BitTorrent / Newsgroup channel :(

Hammer man 09 July 2010 09:51 PM

Ill stick with AC/DC on sky arts then....

belliott69 09 July 2010 10:12 PM

just fill him with lead if he doesn't put the weapon down, don't pussyfoot around.

hodgy0_2 09 July 2010 10:23 PM

What have speed cameras / BMWs got to do with the hunt for a suspected murderer?:idea::idea::idea::idea::idea:

I think he may be implying that lots of cameras = lots of fines = lots of money for the police to have fancy cars.

StickyMicky 09 July 2010 10:36 PM

Gazza on the radio, tanked up in Rothbury with some cans and a takeaway :lol1:

The footballer, who arrived with a can of lager, some chicken, a fishing rod and something to keep him warm, said he hoped the stand-off would end peacefully and referred to the gunman as "Moaty".
Awesome :lol1:

Luminous 09 July 2010 10:46 PM

*sigh*

They have brought him food and water, his friends, and are talking to him. I don't say this often, but this time we should adopt some of the tactics from the US. Tell him to put the gun down, or shoot him.

I really do not understand what is so important about capturing him alive, to just put him in a hole for many years, and then worry about what he may do when he gets out.

hodgy0_2 09 July 2010 10:47 PM

Gazza -- poor bloke probably thinking "what John Motson done now"

StickyMicky 09 July 2010 10:53 PM

Gazza can change the world.

The Rig 09 July 2010 10:53 PM

Dont think its gazza is it ?

from the accent, unless the lager has affected him a bit more ?!?!?!?

StickyMicky 09 July 2010 10:58 PM

AAhhh I see what he's implying... however if the BMWs are deployed finding a murderer that' money well spent. If a friend or family member of mine were murdered, I could not care less if the officers deployed to catch them were driving a Proton or a Maclaren.

I know this is off topic...

...but what a sad turn out it is for someone who had such a gift when he was younger.

Daft as a brush.

GlesgaKiss 09 July 2010 11:35 PM

Hold on, what happened to innocent until proven guilty. He needs to be alive so he can go on trial

Why? Is there any doubt he has done it then? ;) I think one of those snipers will shortly become his trial and sentence because as soon as he turns that handgun towards the police that's him gone.
