Would these OMP harnesses be a good option to use with this bar on your regular Scooby seats?
|
been thinking of putting harnesses in too just not sure on how to atach the belt properly to the harness bar :wonder:
|
not sure lads, would be a great help if people who already bought harness's posted up which they got and how they attached them. iv not fitted mine or even got round to thinking about harness's yet, id have thought ones without the bolts, ie 2 seater car ones like Takata's which il probably end up going for.
|
I was looking through the other threads for some ideas of how to fit them...
These are JonMc's... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC01530.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6/DSC01531.jpg But these I like... http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m...c/SA400516.jpg http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m...c/SA400514.jpg They belong to 'C8 DHC 04WRX' and I really really really like how these are attached to the harness bar, very neat and tidy :) Do you think he'd give us step by step pointers of how to acheive this? He hasnt attached the crotch harnesses properly, they're just for show until he gets bucket seats, but on normal scooby seats like these a 4-point harness (as in my prev post) would do the trick no? |
the green harness belts is how i would like to do mine at some point very tidy
|
Agreed, looks much better than when the extra length of the belts dangle all over the place :thumb:
If C8 DHC 04WRX is reading this :notworthy |
Found this link when I was wondering what to do when I get mine:
http://www.hondaclub.com/forum/artic...right-way.html I have some three bar slides waiting. :) |

http://www.hondaclub.com/forum/artic...right-way.html I have some three bar slides waiting. :) That's a brilliant write up. I noted one point which stresses the importance of the belts when attaching to the harness bar, to be in level with your shoulders. Looking at C8 DHC 04WRX the harness bar looks a little lower than shoulder height or is that just me? JonMc's look spot on for height tho. |
I think the picture makes it look more of an angle than it is, with the bar being so close to the back of the seat, the angle is no where near as important as if they where fastened further back.
|
anywhere within a 20 degree angle of where your shoulders are is acceptable in safety terms of the bar, but Dans seats are completely different to Jons if you look
hopefully start taking payment for these late next week for posting the week after? all going well. |
sounds good to me cant wait to get this fitted :norty:
|
I've found some sexy seat belts made by OMP...
...but will have to put this little lot on hold as the bar + 2xbelts = circa £500. Its a definate buy on my car shopping list! :) |

I really really want these, but like a few others gotta wait, grrr! wrighty338 - as per that guide that 'swrtno1' just posted, can those extra bits (to stop harness sliding) be added?? |
You would look for me what is cost to send one to the netherlands.
|
they can be added i dont see why not but the bars are made and coated now and i arnt sure if we are doing anymore after this.
makkink i can look into it |
Hello.
Thanks for the compliments regarding my harness install! I will try to get some more pictures of the install soon and include an explaination of what I did. My harness bar does sit about right but I would ideally like it a bit higher. I have my seat very upright as I have long legs and short arms! I could do with a bar that is not as wide so I can fit it further up on the b-pillar. The b-pillar tapers in so the bar will only go on the 1st or 2nd notch up on the seatbelt height adjuster (I use my normal seat belts on the road and the 2nd notch is too low for me really) You would then need longer uprights to compensate for the higher bar. Any chance you could make such a modified bar for us 'taller folks'? Dan |
Dan, once these are gone i arnt even sure we will be making anymore to be honest mate.
|
Thats a shame Jon, I wont be able to get involved on this gb... altho this whole harness set up is sumin I do want in the future.
Dan - more pics would be great, yours do look sexy! ;) |
