Starting first time
Hi, I know this will be hard to diagnose over the internet, anyway,
my 1997 uk turbo has decided it wants to struggle to turn on in the mornings, the first time I go to turn it on, it ticks over slightly longer than usual, then when it's about to die it kicks in, no warning lights, however, the rest of the day it's fine and it's only been doing it for two weeks, just had the spark plugs changed, but it runs no problem when it is on, what could be the causes of this, so I can try and dismiss them? Thanks |
mine struggled sometimes when cold traced it to loose spark plug causing slight loss in compresion. ran fine once started though
|
hmm, will check it again in the morning, it had new plugs (7bs) on friday, it doesn't missfire when running either
|
mine ran fine all time other than sometimes struggled to start when cold.
|
Could it be a cold start related problem?

yes, the guy has worked for subaru for you, I would have to look at the leads, but I guess they are on properly as it starts all though the day first time, no miss-fire or anything like that, I don't know when the coilpack was last changed, wouldn't hurt to get them changed, what's best oem from subaru or an equivalent?

Why do cars give more problems everytime they come out of a garage :brickwall. Best place would be Importcarparts for a OEM one. |
it was doing it before they were changed, and they do get on your nerves a lot
When you say coilpack do you mean the black thing the leads come out from, the leads, or would I have to change the leads and the black bit on the manifold? And thanks for your replies |
The OEM leads are good enough to last for ages. It would be a good idea to inspect the standard coil pack which is the fairly big black square thing in the middle :lol1:.
|
is this right for my 1997 uk turbo?
http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/part...en=&searchKey= an which leads, there are too many!! |
Ye thats right. If you have the standard OEM leads the just leave them on. They are good enough.
