Are they not to route mains or comms cables across the driveway?

gallois 20 June 2010 07:40 PM

they are only there if there are overhead cables, to warn high vehicles

they are sometimes used to test the hight of vehicles leaving the site - so they know if they can fit under local bridges.

More to do with height restrictions on site, for a vehicle to leave site it has already arrived has it not? unless of course the vehicle in question was built on site ;)

Perfect appreciatte the replies guys, as I say had not a clue what purpose they served, had another look at them tonight, they are probably only around 20 odd feet in height and facing each other around 80 feet apart.

thanks again.

I meant trucks which arrive empty, then get loaded with stuff to take out of the site
