its been a month and your mechanic has not diagnosed what's wrong with car. i would be taking it to someone else. you have to appreciate that while there some very knowledgeable people on here, it is very difficult to diagnose a fault with out actually seeing the car. unless you can describe in detail what seems to be the problem, along with year, model etc you will not get any sort of answer what will be of any use to you. Sorry.

took the car to him this sat its been a month untill no 1n has replied to me so then i took it to him and its a k plate scooby with the td05 turbo witch it standard on it i assume there is oil leeking from the bootom of the rh but i dont know if it coming from there and the car is missing and a lot of smoke coming from the back box but the missing could be to do with the plugs

bigsinky 07 June 2010 08:40 PM

if he has only had the car from saturday why dont you wait until he gives you a diagnosis. do you have another car or can you borrow another car until the car is fixed?

GazJenno 07 June 2010 08:59 PM

Oil leak could be rocker covers, doesnt take much to do a visial inspecion to conclude this.

If the plugs gone then theres your miss fire problem.

What colour smoke is coming out of the exhaust? and why was the turbo changed?

alcazar 07 June 2010 09:10 PM

TD05 standard? On what car?
What colour smoke? Where EXACTLY do you think the leak is? Oil or water?

Do you see our problem yet?
Oh and TRY to write in a semblance of English, please, you WILL get more replies;)

i changed the turbo cause all the boost pipes were full of oil and oil coming out of the filter and it was blue and white smoke from the backbox oil is coming from the rh on top of the up pipe elbow i cant see were thou and i said tdod and its a k plate scooby i dont know much about these cars guys but your help would be great it would be nice to know a few things for when i got to see the guy just incase he talks **** to me and rippes me off thanks thomas

GazJenno 07 June 2010 09:40 PM

Miss fire: probably because your plug was fecked!
Oil leak: most probably and the simplest place to start would be the rocker cover gasket, this could leak on to the up pipe elbow as mine did.
Smoke: sound like oil smoke but if you changed your turbo not long ago because it was blowing oil then there still could be some in the exaust that hast burn off yet.

If the cars running pretty well, bar the miss fire caused by the plug, then it might not be anything major... but always start with the basics

1000 pound rip off selling a broken engine. The evidence is here in black n white.
Has all this been posted in the Wales section? South Wales Scoobys are quite a close knit bunch. What a tosser giving Welsh people a bad name.

you have been caught bang to rights here.. just accept you did a stupid thing and give the guy his money back, it will show some respect and if you are lucky whenever you need some more advice in the future people MAY be forgiving enough to take the time to help you..

you realise from what you have posted on here that he could take you to court and recover both the money and his legal fees dont you?
