keeps cutting out
A while back i changed the heater matrix on my classic (my94) on replacing the dashboard the car kept cutting out, after checking wiring looms and fuses (all good so far) still no joy, I have changed battery and alternator already.
The car will start via jump leads but once removed it will run for about 3-4 minutes then cut out and wont restart unless jumped again, the voltage at battery is 13.9 on startup but once it cuts out the voltage is still 12.1. Surely the battery/alternator isnt the problem as the voltage is reasonable, where should i check next |
forgot to mention :D
Also the car has a clifford alrm and a tracker fitted, im fully prepared to remove these although im told the tracker may take some finding, if i can find it i will disconnect the tracker and try again

You could have trapped a wire and its shorting to an earth, hence it keeps cutting out.

Cheers tony I'm going to start looking now, I'm thinking i damaged the wiring when I removed the dashboard so I am going to check footwell fusebox area first
|
On checking with my wiring diagram it appears that illumination control unit is unplugged but where is it, the diagram states passenger footwel but i cant see the woods for the trees atm :(
