My X-Box RROD repair guide. With detailed photos.
AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH
The dreaded RROD... https://i261.photobucket.com/albums/...cared/01-1.jpg 1st step to repair Carefully remove the face plate... https://i261.photobucket.com/albums/...cared/02-1.jpg 2nd step Carefully remove both upper and lower casings. These are very fragile, So extra care is required... https://i261.photobucket.com/albums/...cared/03-3.jpg 3rd step Very very carefully remove the drive unit. Remember folks, Be gentle with it... https://i261.photobucket.com/albums/...cared/04-1.jpg 4th step This is the important bit. Choose your repair tool wisely! I chose this... https://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii52/micared/05.jpg 5th step Beat the living crap out of the poorly made worthless piece of Microsoft tat... https://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii52/micared/06.jpg 6th step Put it back together, And hey presto it works again. The above method can be used on laptops, DVD players, iPhones etc etc https://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii52/micared/07.jpg Actually, Step 6 isn't entirely true. I went out and bought a new one :D |
dont me to be the beara off bad news but the is a kit you can buy from microsoft to fix the rrod which is about 25 quid
|
No kit works. The xbox will be good for a few months and just break again. Trust me I had mine fixed by someone who knew what they were doing and problem came back. Less hassle and in the end cheaper to get a new one

It cost £130 for a new X-Box and i got more than £130 quids worth of pleasure by beating my old one to death. It was suprisingly therapeutic :p |
Step 6 could have been put it back in the casing and send it to Microsoft for a RRD repair and see what the reply is.
|
f$$k that will teach me not to read all the instructions before starting a job
