If it is just an Oil and Oil Filter change then £150 should see it done .... it's very simple to do it yourself (and a pleasure knowing it's been done as you would want it doing).

The cost to do it yourself to the standard required would be around £20-£25.

i would do it myself but it has to be done by a garage as part of my warranty and it does have full subaru history so im not sure wether to ruin the fssh or go with a specialist and the mileage is 114k

tbh at 114k, a full subaru history is not going to make a big difference in the value of a five year old car, especially if you plan on keeping it for a few years. i'd use a trusted independant, although i trust no-one, so change mine myself.

Will Subaru honour a warranty claim at 114k miles:wonder:, If there were two cars for sale exactly the same age and price and condition and one was fssh and the other a specialist then me personally would choose the one serviced by the specialist.

its not a subaru warranty just an extended one the car has high miles but have never missed a service even both cambeltd were done by a dealer

It's your call then, no-one can decide for you.

Like said above,I prefer to do it myself ,then i know exactly what i'am using. Someone posted on here a few weeks ago ,about taking there car car to a dealer for a service and the dealer used shell helix super motor oil. Nothing wrong with that as it is a half decent semi synthetic oil,but on a turbo motor, after a few good hard sessions of driving ,it will break down much quicker than a fully synthetic motor oil. Why not do it yourself ,then get a mate to stamp your service book if your worried about keeping up with the service history.Failing that give mark a bell at thwaites developments.not to far from brum and very reasonable imho.

As above, call Mark as he's very competively priced and will be able to discuss exactly what you need and give you a price over the phone
