Used Prodrive springs How much..??

As above does anyone know what a fair price would be for a full set about 1 year old........:wonder:
Their from a Hawkeye and definitely Prodrive ones.
Cheers Gonzo.

I would not buy second hand springs, that's just me.

How do you know they are Prodrive? Are they maked up?

53 19 January 2010 04:56 PM

They are IRO £200 with SIDC discount. I wouldn't pay more than a £100 tbh.

greatgonzo 19 January 2010 05:08 PM

They are being offered to be by a well known Subaru specialist, I think they should be red as well if there the Prodrive ones. He wants £120.00 for them :wonder:

in that case if they are "fitted" for that price then imo its well worth it. if not, haggle :thumb:

£120.00 was just for the springs, another £140.00 for fitment...! I thought that was reasonable! do you not :wonder:

Not cheap then from a Subaru dealer! I have used Cheam motors before and although on the pricey side there very good and really look after you, they give you a very personal service if you know what i mean :)

GazTheHat 20 January 2010 09:48 AM

I sold mine for £100

my06 ppp silver 20 January 2010 10:48 AM

i got my eibach (2nd hand) for £180 fitted, so not a million miles away price wise, just ask him to knock down the "labour" charge, it only takes an hour to an hour and a half after all.

cyberguy 20 January 2010 11:23 AM

springs last for a lifetime. even if they have 100.000 miles they are ok. dont worry about that. as for the price, I sold mine (wrx blue springs) for 100 pounds

greatgonzo 20 January 2010 11:49 AM

So £120 from a dealer seems about right to me. Might try and haggle fitting costs down a bit.

Luckyscoob 20 January 2010 01:17 PM

price sounds ok to me. Just check, but I think its recommended that you have laser alignment done after, but i may be talking rubbish :wonder:

makes sense and would not hurt. some geo set up places allow for a free check anyway so worth doing.:thumb:

Cheers guys I am having set up with fast road settings and a 22mm ARB fitted. Aswell as the. Prodrive springs, can't wait!

Luckyscoob 20 January 2010 04:41 PM

It will be interesting to hear what difference it makes, as that is exactly what I will be looking to do next. The arb, aparantly is really noticable.

£100 is fair but fitting charge is very steep.

Your car will feel much better once the springs have settled a bit. Are you getting whiteline drop links as well?

The next best upgrade to these for handling on a UK hawkeye STi is the steering column bushes. I had mine upgraded when I did the drop links and rear ARB. Makes everything feel much more planted and the steering direct with great feedback.

I was told by a reliable source on here (think he used to work on the WRC cars) that the standard drop links on the 06-07 STI's are very good and do not need changing for a fast road set up.
Don't know anything about the steering bushes :wonder:
I don't want anything that's going to transmit noise into the car, would drop links or steering bushes do this

Nope. You have a spec D with extra sound deadening anyway, so if it's anything like mine it is quiet by Impreza sandards :)
