Microwave Meals
If you have 2 meals and they take 3 minutes each to cook.
Do they take 3 minutes for both or 6 minutes? |
6 minutes for both I reckon.
|
I would have no idea.
As it is such an important matter I suggest we have more info such as what type of meal is it, meat, veg, pasta? Is it frozen or just chilled? |
Yes 6 minutes...
.. and then 3 minutes more just to throw them in the bin |

Not sure why I'm replying to this.;)
Usually you can't cook two meals in the microwave at once (or you're not supposed to). So to be safe, I'd cook them one at a time, therefore 3 minutes each. :thumb: |
1 x 3 = 3
2 x 3 = 6 sorted ;) |

Your all wrong, I reckon (3x2) + (a bit) = about 7 1/2 mins, because it never works out just totalling them up.
|
If you have 2 meals then you're a fat bloater.

My thinking is, if you cook 1 jacket potatoe in the conventional oven and it takes 20 minutes to bake ....... 10 potatoes takes 20 minutes also.
Why should it be any different in the Microwave? |

Why should it be any different in the Microwave? and stop it with the "potatoe " :D clue= surface heat versus excited water molecules throughout the product.. |

Well, we won't expect you to know the answer then!! :brickwall:cuckoo::lol: |
Ive heard its about 50% more for 2 rather than 1....4mins 30 sec in other words, lol.
If you look at a packet of microchips it has a time for 1 box or 2 boxes, its not double the time, more like about half again from memory. :D |

Why should it be any different in the Microwave? If it wasn't different in so many ways, then a micro meal that takes 5 minutes or so in there, would cook as quickly in an oven. It doesn't though. Not taking the risk of either fooking the meals up, or making myself bad, I'd do as I originally said. :) |

That's providing 2 meals would actually fit in a microwave. Why I am actually posting on this is beyond me, I must be bored.:lol1: |
speaking of micro-food, Tescos Cheddar Mash is the ticket, i absolutely love it!:thumb:

If you look at the packs of micro pizzas, it tells you specifically not to cook both at once, the same goes for alot of micro stuff.

Either Pete was hungry or he's found a mate :D
|
Not sure what to make of this.......
Another case of Pete causing a pointless debate..... or Genuine and a bit sad watching Slumdog Millionaire with a microwave meal on his lap. :Suspiciou |

You still haven't said whether the meals in question are frozen (thus will need a defrost cycle), chilled or room temperature. You haven't said whether you are cooking something from scratch (as per your jacket potato example) or warming a ready-meal. You know, the sort of questions that Hysteria1983 asked three minutes after your original post! mb |
Do people still eat those horrid microwave ready meals? I suppose the chav types that can't bring themselves to do a bit of cooking still get them from Iceland. That would include Pete I guess as we saw the contents of his freezer in a rather bad photo he posted in the photography forum. It was Icelandtastic, Kerry Katona would have been very jealous :D
As for microwave cheesy mash  How sodding hard is it to peel a few spuds, boil them up for 20 mins, drain them, then mash with butter, milk, salt, pepper, and some nice grated mature cheddar. That is just lazy and a waste of cash :nono: |
As a scientist,I can't believe you asked the question Pete!
Les |
he knew the answer, but dementia has taken it away again!
|
4min 30 secs together.

This thread is very illuminating as to the dietary habits of those posting. :)

Pretty much the only time I do is at work if I want something hot, as we only have a microwave and toaster. Even the I don't eat ready meals as I'm too fussy an eater. |
