How do you think a Billet core (as seen in the SC turbos) makes more power.... effective longer blade as the shaft is smaller in diameter but core is effectively the same overall diameter.... so the blade is longer. Shifts more air, so takes longer to spool to maximum hoof. :D

The part throttle response improvement comes from the lighter core, so initial response is improved, since it needs less energy for that initial "flick".

That's what I understand it as...... no doubt someone will come along as say I'm talking bollocks!! :D

Is that running meths? Almost 500hp from a 46billet on a 2.5forge motor sounds great to me!!!

Yes, approx 8%, or 5 litres in a 60 litre tank.

Hi,

its a Billet T04Z with an 84mm billet wheel which we will be testing shortly. :thumb:

Its also available with a choice of 35R rear end or a custom rear end capable of flowing 77llbs of air. :norty:

All we need now is a name for it as Garratt do a 37R billet, to avoid confusion we may call it a 38 Billet, best wait for testing though as we can name it in line with what it produces. :D

Now to find a test mule. :wonder:

cheers

Hey there I bought a sc46 last year. It on a 2 ltr Jdm. With other mods. I'm currently running at 465 bhp with 375 torque. Well happy with this turbo.

Hi,

glad to hear it. :luxhello:

The SC46 Billet is our best selling turbo, we have sent them all over the world, Australia, Sweden, Finland and Dubai to name a few, they dont seem fussy and tend to work on 2.0 ltr cars, 2.1 strokers, 2.2ltr, 2.33 ltr and the 2.5ltr all with stunning results. :D

Thank you for your interest in this on going thread, there is more to come I can assure you. :norty:

cheers
Kev

Kev,
Apologies if this has already been shown on a graph (I'm a lazy arse lol), but have you before and after plots between a VF36 Newage and then with your SC46 Billet?

I'm personally interested in this comparison as you never know! ;)

I have this one Shaun, stock VF43 Hawkeye UK turbo vs SC46 single scroll and the SC46 was on a front mount and still outspooled the stock unit on the road and dyno.

Hi Kev:
Is there only one Single Scroll SC46 version or are there two versions having different turbines, one for the 2.0L with a slightly smaller turbine and a different one for the 2.5L with a 60mm turbine?

Thanx :)

Hi,

no the SC46 Billet is the same one throughout, as stated earlier its not fussy seems to work on any cc. :thumb:

We do have an alternative exhaust housing due for testing soon but we dont want to upset the turbo's karma. ;)

Keep you posted.

cheers

st03eko 02 March 2011 03:42 PM

I hope so. Can't add to much more at the moment. Not unless I go for a stroker kit.

Hi Shaun,

do you mean the 46 billet twin scroll as the VF36 is a twin scroll unit ?

cheers
Kev

Shaun 02 March 2011 05:22 PM

Hi KeV
I would be interested in comparisons of either tbh, as long as the reference set-up is the vf36 on a newage 2ltr. Pump fuel on both if available.

Never really had any dealing with meths .. mmmm got me thinking now lol

Mad Hammer 02 March 2011 08:12 PM

No brainer mate 20% mix can be good for 10% power, however your .63 may be the limiting factor

Hi,

nice result, well done. :thumb:

From big power turbo's to the baby of the bunch, SC36 Billet, just put one on a 22B,

1 bar at 2750 RPM, and 1.4 bar at 3100, 345 BHP and 360 ft lbs, doesn't sound much but WOW the thing flys, excellent spool gives the kick in the right place and holds it nicely in the usable power band, its not all about big numbers especially on a road car, we restrained it a little so as not to destroy the standard gearbox. :D

Cheers
Kev
