I'd be willing to bet your English is far superior to either his French, Dutch, German or Flemish...ignore him :thumb:

sorry for my "bad" English. I live in Belgium. - On the contrary, your English is a damn sight better than half of the 'natives' on here. :D And yes, you're both right (about my 'other' languages). :D |
Hi,
been a while since we posted on here so a bit of catching up to do. There have been a few new turbos, tested and added to the range so I will update this thread ASAP. Cheers kev |

A friend has an SC40 on a 2.1 with non avcs heads and that spools like a mutha fooker !!
|
Not been on here for a while as I have been more than happy with my SC42 Twinscroll. Whats the new news? Also I am thinking of going FMIC or for a Chevron F1 tmic can i go for a bigger turbo?
|
I thought sc42 was good on 2.0 litres? What would full boost be on a sc42 non avcs heads gt specs and Hs up pipe any ideas mappers
|
Kev, you sure know how to keep us bunch of idiots in suspense!
;) :D |
Hopefully Kev's going to be useing my scoob as a test donkey for the new bearing core sc36.....
|
That's surely gonna spool like the proverbial scalded cat. |

I am running SC46 on a 2.1 stroker with AVCS heads not laggy AT ALL! On the road I was hitting 1.5 bar @ 3800 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-a...1020111352.jpg I would imagine SC42 would spool even faster |

May be worth checking the Grimmspeed topmount out as well.

Looks awesome mate, what bhp/torque you got? Would a gt30r be laggy?

Looks like 502/413 in that pic; if that's on V-Power that's a nice figure from an SC46 :thumb:

Mine hits full boost about 4200RPM on a STi 2.0 with AVCS, and went on to make 439/385 on V-Power. Simon reckons it might see just a wee bit more on a 3 bar Map sensor ;). I think on the road it's more like about 4000rpm. As your block is forged and you'll likely be running more boost than me that figure might improve again :) |

seems a low torque figure
we never finished tuning the car as I later found out it made that power on only two alive pistons, so I tore the motor apart I am doing the 2.12 again during winter, same setup only now with FMIC and JUN AVCS cams, so we will see how the SC46 does :) for reference, this is what the pistons looked like https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-L...0520121575.jpg |

detonation
what surprises me to this day, is that is happened almost instantly after the motor was built, as my catch can was smoking from day 1... with a break-in map with almost no boost and very little timing so no idea really |

I would say those sharp edges on the valve cut outs are just asking for pinking to occur. That and the extremely thin piston wall caused by the cut outs is just asking for trouble. If it happened so early was the compression ratio correct from the build?

despite how nice and light those diamond pistons are, they are just too fragile https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-o...6112009881.jpg I am going with Cosworth pistons for the new build I checked for compression after I was tired of draining oil from the catch can, I knew there could not be that much blowby, and it was gone on two busted cylinders |
Looks like they got the design wrong it's probably better to break out the valve cut out fully on the piston wall. Easy for them to do on a billet piston to. Guess they think the anodising will save the piston.
