Would it make more power on VVT or just better spool?

duncatr 27 October 2011 03:47 PM

Better spool

Shaun 27 October 2011 03:59 PM

Martyn,
Thanks... I envisaged it was single scroll. Nice results. :)

IainMilford 27 October 2011 04:41 PM

Would VVT heads also help to get more torque?

MartynJ 27 October 2011 05:09 PM

Just finished mapping another car equipped with the SC42 Billet.
Due to this one having a stock V3/4 intake hose it didn't quite make what the other car did.
At 1.5 bar on Tesco 99 we saw 396bhp and 360lbft and at the same boost a 20% meth map returned 421bhp and 390lbft.
Graphs to follow.

Sc 36 Billet, 2.1 stroked engine, UK heads, version 5 on V power controlled by the Syvecs ecu. :thumb:

Nice torque figure and brilliant response on the road. :thumb:

Think that's covered it. ;)

I'm fairly sure Sir Alan would not tell me that marketing can determine what someone else is doing ;)
Marketing is the process used to determine what products or services may be of interest to customers, and the strategy to use in sales, communications and business development. It generates the strategy that underlies sales techniques, business communication, and business developments.

Market share - now thats slightly different. :thumb:
But to understand market share you must understand your competitiors activity and to do this you must speak to every single customer, and that must be difficult to do as its so widely spread.
I struggle to calculate TAM (total available market) with only 6 competitors and 24 customers. :lol1:

Edit to say - Sorry for the slight side track LOL. I do love a good debate. :D
I'm still following the billet turbo's with interest. I'm still watching the GT30R results ;) Just not ready for one yet :)

Shaun 28 October 2011 06:40 PM

lol @ above

Martyn,
Stick to mapping cars mate! ;) :D

If the marketing is ok, who gives a damn what anybody else is doing?
BTW I think Martyn meant the other Sir Alan.

Believe me..... that's your first (and probably last) mistake if you think that. ;)

But since this thread isn't about teaching business skills..... I'll look forward to Kev's next SC turbo graph. :lol1:

Come on Kev! :D

Well, even Kev calls us the Master of the 2.1's! We certainly like his turbos on most of them.
Car tuning isn't a business, it's a vocation, a calling. We take the hippocratic oath. "I solemnly swear to uphold the tradition of the nasty smelly internal combustion engine, and lead ever on upwards in search of higher power outputs, in spite of the stress, the sweat, the worry and the eternal damnation of the Green Party"
If I wanted to make money, I'd run a Cornish Paaasty empire.

Hi,

to be fair Alan does buy lots of turbo's, many for the vast amount of 2.1 stroked engines they do at "Engine tuner". :thumb:

"Car tuning isn't a business, it's a vocation, a calling", so true. :):D

Hi,

if you look at the last tip on the power graph you will see a misfire which is why we rev limited it today, next week he is coming back for us to fit later coil packs and re wire to suit, boost control will be handed over to the syvecs. :thumb:

Today was to see if we could hit the customers desired figure on "V" power so he could have a play for a bit with a revisit to sort the misfire, we have of course sent the car out safe. :D

cheers
Kev

Whens this back Kev ? Can't wait to see proper boost and fuel in there.
