Fek me those Audi RS4's go some!!! The tw@t must have been less than 3 feet from my rear bumper at one point! NOT IMPRESSED by his driving plus his headlights were ridiculously bright, but the car, bl00dy hell, not seen anything like it for an estate!!!! :D

Anyone else been hassled by one of these monsters???

scooby_si 15 March 2002 11:45 PM

news to me wots an RS4? is that like a suv or sumin?

andy oakes 15 March 2002 11:46 PM

Yes me too!!
Very very FAST

Bravo2zero_sps 15 March 2002 11:46 PM

Errr Audi estate beasty on shed loads of steroids, full body kit and humungous wheels!

Bravo2zero_sps 15 March 2002 11:48 PM

Aren't they like £45k new? I know its good but not for that money!

graham pritchard 15 March 2002 11:49 PM

Serious bit of kit, that I have to admit leaves my Scoob standing
But at £47000 it should do!
350bhp standard, but most are chipped to 450bhp

Great~taste~Bloke 15 March 2002 11:50 PM

They bend their wheels all the time!! So next time turn down a pot holed B-road! LOL

Bravo2zero_sps 15 March 2002 11:53 PM

Hahahahaha thanks for the advice there! 350 bhp????  Fek I should have pulled over and let him past out of respect :D

legacyPete 16 March 2002 01:13 AM

Nope, they've got 380bhp!!!!!

WREXY 16 March 2002 01:19 AM

Yep, 380hp standard. My mate has one over here and it flies!

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Bravo2zero_sps 16 March 2002 01:26 AM

No wonder it was chewing the back end off my scoob  They bl00dy go round corners quick as well! Luckily I turned off after a couple of miles and got rid of him. If I see him again I will have to go home and get my bike and see how he likes it :D

Caronte 16 March 2002 01:29 AM

The satisfaction stands in those very narrow B roads where RS4 can't keep up (1620 kg..)!

C/.

WREXY 16 March 2002 01:45 AM

True, they can't keep up to a scoob around the tight ones. :D

Claudius 16 March 2002 02:36 AM

An Audi RS4 has 380 bhp, with chip (Abt) 420 bhp.

They accelerate better than a Scooby but the brakes are ****.

paulwadams_my99 16 March 2002 03:01 AM

Are the the same engine spec as the s4? Caught one of them out at a junction, but i didnt realise till i pulled out and saw him still behind me. Is the rs4 a different engine or just skirt?

D8UGF 16 March 2002 03:21 AM

Am i right in saying the RS4 has a porsche designed/
developed engine?

Dougie

Caronte 16 March 2002 04:18 AM

No that was its predecessor the rs2 based on the old Audi 80. Prsche developed the engine( 2200 cc turbo, 315 BHP), brakes (Brembo) and Suspensions.

C.

my2009 16 March 2002 06:56 AM

here we can see the difference once again. 2litre lightweight turbo scooby with mods to have 300BHP will leave for instance the RS4 any day when on twisty roads requiring quick handling and braking... thats it!

Luke 16 March 2002 07:28 AM

All true.... new version of RS2,poor brakes, not as fast on a tight corner...
But how many of us would want one ???? I would!!! Check the exhausts!!! Build quality that Subaru could not spell....

met 16 March 2002 09:53 AM

borrewed one of these from a guy at my old company , very nice cabin & fast in a line, took it for a twisty blast & it is all wrong, gimme my scoob any day, the rs makes a great second car, school run etc

P1Fanatic 16 March 2002 10:51 AM

A good car if you got the money and a big thumbprint from the Mrs making you get an estate. The thing is for nigh on £50k you could get a scoob for you and wagon for the mrs and have 7k left for modding ur scoob.

shunty 16 March 2002 10:51 AM

0-100 in 11.5 approx...very quick.
I had a go with one about 2 months ago, only got up to about 80 then had to pull back as slip road was merging with M1 J39 & old duffer inbetween me & RS4:D:D
very nice for an estate but @ 45k, as someelse pointed out, I don't think I'd bother:)

Katana 16 March 2002 11:32 AM

Maybe its about time that I sell my scooby and get myself a Skyline.

tntsystems 16 March 2002 12:47 PM

forge motorsport have one of these in development at the mo, fast as feck, but i still prefer my scooby! (i think its in the 450bhp region already, but 500 is easy to obtain, so i am told)

Gridlock Mikey 16 March 2002 12:53 PM

ANY car that can whoop a scoob (and let's face it, there are a growing number out there) be it in a straight line or the twisty bits gets my thumbs up :D

I just love to see quick cars in action especially if they are giving me a hard time cos it's not unless you are in ya scoob that you actually appreciate how bl00dy quick some of these machines are

Mikey  'spect to the quicker cars out there :D

Luke 16 March 2002 01:08 PM

Tim stiles Racing or GTi Engineering could get it to handle very well...

DAVE-W 16 March 2002 01:34 PM

RS4 is twin turbo six cylinder i think....as said above...very fast tool....but bloody expensive for an audi estate ;)

David

Claudius 16 March 2002 02:21 PM

The engine was developed by Cosworth I think.

LG John 16 March 2002 02:41 PM

If I remember the RS4 is the same twin turbo engine thats in the S4 but the cosworth boys have tinkered a little! In a straight line you just can't argue with that kind of power, in fact the only car to ever leave my VTS for dead was the new M3 (RS4 rival). He pulled away so quick I questionned whether my foot was actually on the throttle! Alas, the scooby just can't shake a VTS like that!

bugeyes 16 March 2002 02:43 PM

Seen the new RS6 yet, based on the A6. Due out this year with 390bhp standard!!!
Like you say though, should be good for that money!!
