"... compression ratio of 90.35:1 ..." Damn! I'd like to hear that start up ..... :lol1:

Does seem about 20k to rich.

I suspect he has one 9 too many.
He says 'fully' alot too. |
Think the decimal point should be between the 3 and the 9 !!

Being honest; I think the TR8 is a far more intertesing and rarer car to alot of so-called British "classics" that fetch a huge premium. Not many genunine TR8s were made when compared to the TR7. 9.35: 1 compression is standard CR for 80's rover V8s. And a v8 in something that weighs less than a modern Fiesta with RWD has to be an interesting drive.
Anyhoo, aint worth £40K unless its a genuine TR8 FHC (which I doubt; as most are roadsters); more likely a TR7 with a v8 plonked in, which makes it worth £15K tops (if it really is concours). |
for that price you could get a mint works replica 60's Mini Cooper S
I know what I would rather have |
Always had a soft spot for these but none are worth that much.

He's living in fookin cuckoo land!

bag of sh!t is a bit harsh, hideously overpriced though...........
|
mmmmm.... Tartan side trim
|
Not that bad!
|
Its bad because it bears no resembalance to a works car ,most of the spec is wrong, and the car has no history.
|
If it is a genune TR8 it is a shame they've bolloxed it up with all that rally stuff. If it is a modified TR7, ok if driving a tarted up rally lookalike floats yer boat (whoops, keep forgetting what site I'm on;)) but it would be far nicer if it looked like a regular TR7.
......shhh.... the tartan trim is my favourite bit :). |
