A car I have always liked/wanted to own.

I have a sales brochure somewhere in the loft..........................

Hold their value - even for cars with 150,000 miles +.

I owned a remapped 280bhp Avant with loads of suspension and brake upgrades :-

Koni Adjustables, H&R springs,RS2 ARB's, Rose jointed top mounts, ally subframe bushes, Poly wishbone bushes, Brembo 4 pots etc.
Standard they are a bit soft and will understeer, brakes are 2 pot stock and are not really upto the job.
Loads of mods for them.
Make sure camblet and harmonic balancer and all tensioners are in good shape, expensive job otherwise.
great cars but not cheap to run or look after.

Ran a used 300 hp S2 avant for three years and it was dull as ditchwater plus parts were expensive and silly things kept on failing, but luckily found an indie Audi specialist.

Took a big hit when I sold it but I guess the value has settled now that it is 15 years old.
I bet even more parts need replacing on them and OEM stuff is hard to find/v. expensive.
German & Swedish did good quality spares (do they still exist?) but don't supply everything.
Was a difficult car to work on due to so many covers and fiddly assembly - can you tell it wasn't one of my favourites?

I had a ur quattro a few years back and Audi are complete $hits for letting parts go NLA on the 5 cylinder engine.
